Good morning gentlemen.
I study the views of many of you and on that basis and my own views I concluded that Hindi should not be the official language of India because making Hindi as an official language would suppress many other cultural languages such as marathi, tamil, telegu etc. People should learn many languages just to make their stand in the world. As the one from you said that English is a common language in the world and we have to learn and study it. As one guy can speak Hindi, can also speak some other languages, but the fact is we never try to learn it, we and our government have to make such a environment that is suitable for every language.
The second point comes that many of us are not able to understand any other language, this is not a big problem, the technology has made it so simpler, just use it for the sake of someone.

Hello myself, Kartik Chouhan.
Hindi is our mother tongue language because I belong to north India but still, I cannot impose the same for all my brother from another part of the country where they belong to south India. It is not that easy for a person to be linguistic-based on common assumptions. It is good for them to respect Hindi but learn based on their interest in staying in their comfort zone but not necessarily to impose Hindi on them. For example, is it necessary for a Brahman to learn all vedic Puran? just because he belongs to the same community. The answer is NO. He should respect but learn according to his suitability. So, to mug up with the very same problem English became a common ground for all of the Indians to communicate not only nationwide but internationally which is the extra plus point because all I can say this is a language which is being taught since childhood to all of us past of decades.

According to me, Hindi should be the national language. It is a fact that around 42% of people of India use Hindi as their mother tongue and rest are Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telegu etc. So we have known Hindi is the majority language and it is already famous for all and can be easily understandable, yes it can be a little bit hard for South Indian states but if they try it must be easy. Most of the developed countries maintain national language and another regional language as well. Without a national language, how can we become a nation?
So we should favour Hindi as the national language, English is the second official language and then another regional language. Thank you.

Yes, Hindi should become the National Language. My reasons for that are quite simple. Firstly that we are from Bharat Varsh and not from India. India is not the Countries name, it was given to us by Greeks and Romans because they could only reach till Indus river which is actually the Sindhu River. Then if we see our History which is as old as 50000 years when Shiva came on the Himalayas and enlightened the people of these lands and from where our actual history starts and not from Indus Valley Civ which was taught to us by the British Historians and seeded in our minds. Our History was Distorted by these people and then Sanskrit too was never an Indo-Aryan Language because there is nothing like Aryan Race. Again a Hoax to divide us. So Sanskrit is as old as 50000 years but then nobody used to write anything but the knowledge was oral it was only around 3500 B.C when our ancestors started writing due to Invention of Paper type materials. Anyways so Sanskrit was an extremely old language and by 800 B.C Sanskrit got simplified into different Languages like Hindi and Malayalam, Tamil etc. But still, Hindi was found out to be an easier language to learn, write and communicate with and a more sophisticated Language. Further, Hindi evolved too and as adopted by many other regions it was distorted like in Haryana where they speak Haryanvi, Bihar-Bihari and etc but they still are not real part of Real Hindi. Actual Hindi was more sophisticated just like what was used in the TV series Chanakya made around 1991 or so. That was real Hindi. But today's Hindi is actually quite disturbing to hear because we included all kind of Urdu and English words into that and somehow they made a beautiful language into a wild Language. Hindi became the second language in Bharat because we are made to hate it in Schools. Everywhere in the World Counties are United because of their one Language Identity and of course Language is a parameter of Unity. We always have been fighting among each other because of Culture differences and more importantly different Languages that we speak. Todays Bharat needs only one Language to remain United or else we would again fight and get divided I am sure of that. Different Languages means different cultures, different opinion and different histories which would surely become a reason of Conflict in years to come and then fight for Independence from Bharat. Why Hindi? Well because Hindi is a direct Descendant from Sanskrit. Pure Hindi is a basic evolution of Sanskrit and that it keeps Sanskrit alive. Other languages might be also children of Sanskrit but they are difficult to be spoken and represent a culture sect. While Hindi doesn't represent a culture sect but represent the Philosophy of Bharat Varsh and is like the eldest Child of Sanskrit. Pure Hindi should surely become the National Language of Bharat because it would help to keep Bharat United for years to come and stop the unstoppable division of this country again due to so many languages and culture divisions. This is my take on this issue.

English is a Universal Language. So if we had to go to foreign countries to study or get a job, how are we going to communicate with the people there. Also, India is the second-largest English - speaking country in the world. Hence if we disregard English, many people belonging to India will be affected. Making Hindi as an official language would suppress many other cultural languages and regional dialects such as Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam etc. You can't make a language official only because it has originated from our country. The Old was History. Now is the future. Making majoritarian language the national language is unconstitutional. In the long run, it will be harmful to our country. The minority who don't speak Hindi would protest and a Civil-War could take place affecting many lives and degrading our Peace.

Why not?
If we can adopt a foreign language English; why do we hesitate to learn another language of our motherland.
India is a multicultural and diverse nation. We all are aware of it. But I don't find any problem in making hindi as national language. Having a national language would give a sense of pride to us.

Hi,
Subhasis here.
In my point of view.
It will take time but I think let wait until all learn Hindi first instead of making it official language.
Making it National Language will not make difference untill we co up with each other.
Learning Hindi will make you communicate from a poor to rich or any. Which will help you and help them too.
It's not focus to making it official language, we should Focus to contribute something for nation or atleast for 2,3 people.
Thank you.

Hindi should be treated as an official language, not to degrade or disrespect any other language. It's just that if we belong to Hindustan and we visit any other state of the same motherland why speak in English as a medium of conversation and is definitely not possible to learn every local language but Hindi should become a means to connect every heart of all brothers and sisters of a Nation, of a mother of INDIA.

Hello, everyone.
This is Md Samirul from Mechanical stream, Jamia Millia Islamia.
I would like to take the initiative to initiate this GD.
In India, around 44% of people can speak and understand Hindi. But we have to need to know also how many languages we lost to make this much of a percentage.
What happens with the Bhojpuri, what happens with the Maithili, Marwari, Haryanvi, Rajasthani, Surjapuri and many more languages and many more dialects of the language we lost to achieve this figure of Hindi. We should not forget one thing"Lost of language is lost of culture". India is a diverse country wherein every part and corner is a different culture and different language besides.
In India, there are 107M Bengali speakers, 99M Marathi, 94M Telugu, 77M Tamil, 60M Gujrati, 62M Urdu, 52M Kannada, 42M odia, 35M Malayalam, 36M Punjabi, 23M Assamese what about this person? Apart from this, we have seven sisters (North East) who have their language and culture and where many tribes lives. So we need to think about all of them.
But in these, all one thing in common you know what is that?
That is 'English '. India 🇮🇳 is already the world's 2nd largest English speaking nation and still, this number is increasing day by day that day is not far away when we will be on TOP. If you will go to any part of India then you can easily communicate if know English and apart from this our academic curriculum follows in English, even government release any notice/guidelines or something is in English, his/her tweets are in English even as releases in English, the Indian judiciary system follow English.
There are many points/reasons on which we can easily say that English will National language. And this will opens the door to many more opportunities for us. Every person around the world 🌎 can work with us and we can work with them easily without any language barriers.
Like this, there is no valid point with Hindi.
Even those 40% of Hindi speakers don't speak pure Hindi, in their sentences 50% of words are from Urdu and other languages.
Then how can we consider Hindi an official language or a National Language?

Hindi is already an official language along with 22 other languages and it is the official language along with English for the functioning of the Union Government. Now the question is should we make it the only official language for the whole country?
My first point in opposition to this is that there are crores of people in different states who can read their mother tongue but not Hindi or English, and making Hindi the only official language of government will affect them.
The second point is that if Hindi is the mother tongue for the Hindi speaking region, then their profit will be huge but people of other states will be at a loss in their own country. The language can be learnt, yet where the Hindi speaker will study only mathematics and science, the non-Hindi speaker will have to study mathematics and science as well as the language being used in it. Today, even if an exam is conducted in English, all are equal, both Hindi speaking and non-Hindi speaking. And everyone is free to read in their own language too.
No one's gain, no one's loss!
It is a matter of fact that in a government job, everyone has to work in different states, so it is not a problem. Whenever one has to go for a job in the state, training for the language is always given.
The third point is in opposition to it that while English has already challenged our linguistic diversity, why should we eliminate this diversity? Why don't we read English in such a way that it is a language which will keep us connected to the world, else we should love our mother tongue and read and talk in it. Also reading Hindi and Dravidian languages 'in the same way, that it will keep us connected with each other.
