My opinion is that conflict and disunity occurs if Hindi or any other Language of India is declared as official language. If English is declared as the official language there would be no reason of conflict and unity can be maintained among other states as well as English will be proposed as a must language to be learnt which helps us to develop a prosperous country.

Yes, from my point of view, Hindi should be an official language of India as India has the majority of Hindu people and I think if Hindi be the official language the condition of our country would have resulted in better form.

In my opinion, I feel that Hindi need not be the official language of India. However, its present status needs to be uplifted.

India is a country with a rich heritage incorporating more than 300 regional languages in herself. In case Hindi is made our official language, the numerous regional languages occupying their beautiful episodes in our History may feel endangered. And in our present scenario, where already our citizens hanker after the foreign culture, such a step may wipe out the essence of our literary diversity.

There is a large fraction of our populace which is not familiar with any language other than its mother tongue. Every person honours his/her mother tongue. Therefore, any effort to make Hindi our official language will lead to a chain of chaos all around.

However, I would also like to add that the present status of Hindi in India is so poor that the future of the glorious language seems to be uncertain. We need to understand that although we, the citizens of India are divided by other regional boundations, but we are united as Indians. Thus, there must be a language that should connect our hearts and souls, like the pearls in a necklace.

Thus, Hindi must be a compulsory language, but need not be an official one.

Every Indian must study at least two languages, one his/her mother tongue and Hindi.

Yes, I agree with all of them who wants Hindi as the official language. Because we already adopted many things from other countries. We have only common Hindi language so Hindi should be as an official language, the citizen of Indian must know Hindi and our regional language.

Hello All,

I think Hindi should be made as the official language of India as this is a language which most people speak. It will definitely help people;

1) who goes to different cities to study or live in.

2) it will definitely remove fear or settling in a different city.

3) will help people to unite more as people talk in that language and communicate more in the language they are comfortable in. If everyone is on the same page - people can communicate better.

4) In India itself, people are fighting for their languages and its but obvious - how can they think of peace with other countries?

5) I feel more comfortable getting settled in foreign countries as they have 1 common language "English" (Not talking about all countries but at least - Australia or Canada) - with keeping Hindi as National Language - will give the same feeling to sustain.

India is the only land that has sheltered 22 major languages with over 720 dialects. We cannot have an instant disruption to challenge this complexity with the introduction of a national language.

It's a fact that Hindi is the most commonly spoken indigenous language. We have almost every school in the country with a provision to learn and teach Hindi. But it has not attained a momentum in many of our southern states. So it is not an appreciable progress to declare Hindi as our official language. But it would be good if we have a good stand with Hindi since it virtually act as a highly consistent language of the country. Once the whole Nation attain the ability to flawlessly use this language, we can rethink to proceed this Noble movement.

Hi Everyone.

I think Hindi should be the official language because many of us speak in Hindi as well as we understand. Compare to other regional or an International language most of us get hesitation to communicate with the people who live in the same country. Most of the schools and colleges are teaching in English. Why? we have our own language but we don't give priority. British has gone but they left their language to make it world wide and we are following on their footstep.
