Retirement Age for Politicians

I personally believe that older politicians have more experience and more knowledge of how this world works. They make much wiser decisions and above all, people tend to trust them instead of preferring a new, young politician.

Though young politicians would understand the current generation better but I think that age doesn't matter in any profession. If someone is good in what they do, then people do not see their age. Mr. Narendra Modi is 68 years old and he is still active with millions of supporters.

So, age is just a number and I don't think that the retirement age should be fixed.

I think age restrictions must be there for politicians but alone age cannot be the criteria to to form a better government with that,

1. There must an educational eligibility criteria. Education about the latest technologies is must.

2. It is not the politician who led to a better performance of our country but their thoughts, intelligence and their attitude which carry the progress of country ahead.

Politicians with old ideas, no educational qualification and with aggressive thoughts must get retire for the welfare of the society.

Their is no need of politician age to be consider for retirement, they have a more experience than youngster and they can face some certain situation can get solution by their experience and one thing younger can do every thing because they have ability. And we should go with younger they are the future of our country they are making our country develop and knowledgeable, if the politician is too much older and can't take proper decision it has to be retire it self and we can consider him as a political guru.

In my views. People in politics must have a retirement date. They should be the one who encourages the youth of the nation to come up and gets involved in political. As the era is changing. It is the need of hour. Not saying that they should quit totally but they should be the pillars of the young politicians and need to support them as well as oppose them if they do something worng but that doesn't mean that they should not be given chance. Politician should leave away their greed to remain in power. People too want fresh options.

Well, I agree with most of you who says that retirement is necessary for politicians. To support my points I would say that from the 1st term or 2nd term of joining polities he could do everything needed either for developing purpose or getting money for personal gains and then after that the remaining years will be because of the wealth, respect and reputation which would help him to stay in polities that will have nothing to do with the country's development. So, its better to have a retirement age for a politicians.

In my opinion, retairment age for the politicians is necessary but it should be somewhat larger than our government employees (it should be in between 65 to 70). If we don't give having the retirement age for the politicians then we might have lost some knowledge and skills of the young people. When the people will get old they are unable to move also what should they do for the country's growth. For old people, we have to spend a lot of security expenses. So retirement age for the politicians is necessary.

No, there is no need to set a retirement age for politicians. We have seen many examples of leaders, our country has had, many of them, despite of their old age they did great job in the Indian politics, and there are also examples of young leaders who couldn't perform well in it, so in the history of Indian politics and even in the present scenario, I think age didn't matter. And also we do need some experienced leaders in our political system to run it efficiently with the help of their experience.

Yes. I agree with the topic that retirement age should be there for politician also. As we are a county 2.5 bl population, majority of whom are youngster's. After a certain age the old politician should step down by themselves.

So that a fresh generation can come up and take the charge and help the country grow with fresh energy & new Ideas. After retirement Senior politicians can work as mentor to the young gang and share their experience which will give proper guidance to the new people.

Hi friends according to my perceptions I think most of you are support the retirement of politicization agree and know all the good ideas my aim is not to put anyone in confusion according to me teeth is no need for retirement for politicians. There is more need for experience leaders. However for develop the country there is more need of good experience leader. Let a example of Narendra Modi, he is a powerful leader. He do many type of work in comparison to new generation leaders.

I prefer to that the retirement must be in politics, I am a Indian, in our country most of the politicians are old citizens, they are almost 60 crossed. This people are fall down after certain age then after the fresh politicians, almost young are entered into the politics, they cannot take correct decisions, this may effect the people.

So the old politicians&old leaders are used as mentors this type of democracy makes perfect democracy & successful government.
