Hello Everyone.

India is a country with great diversity in all aspects which include religion also. If we mix religion with politics then in a country like India which have numerous religions then Politics will also be get divided on the basis of religion as what it is happening in case of caste and community" POLITICS AND PEOPLE ARE THE SOUL OF THE COUNTRY".

In some areas of the country people WOULD elect/vote their representative on the basis of caste which results in division of social community.

PARTITION OF INDIA AND CREATION OF PAKISTAN is the best example of mixing politics with religion. If any of my words hurt any individual's feeling then I would like to apologies so sorry.

In my view religion is all about theory but politics is practical. Word religion which we call in Hindi Dharma, means duty, it is real definition of religion not only just sentimental tact or fanaticism. If politicians follow their dharma truly than whole problems can be solved easily.

According to me religion should not be mixed with politics. Our India is secular country where we all lives together. It's basically a Phycology to think like this but you should think about your your future so selection should be based on the past experience not on basis of religion.

I read all comments. My view about this topic is that religion is a part of our society even daily life. A religious view shows who is the good one.

Having same feeling and respect for all religions leads a good leader.

As we know that science is connected with religion similarly politics can not be isolated from religion.

I agree with the statement that politics mixes with religion. As we all know that people prefer to vote for that candidate who belongs to their community without taking interest in the things like whether the candidate have the ability to fight for their rights or not.

Without knowing his nature or behavior people used to vote for that candidate who belongs to their community. For a person which is going to vote in elections, is it enough that the particular person he vote for belongs to his community?I don't thing so.

According to me, people should vote for that person or party who is able to represent their views in parliament. And the candidate should think about each and every community without any inequality. He should only think about the development of the area under him with honesty.

In my point of view, every Indian should vote with a feeling to be Indian not. With the feeling of Hindu or Muslim. This feeling will definitely can create a big difference in between politics and religion.

Politics should be kept different from religion always. Mixing between politics and religion create a mess in the whole country. As religious morals are helpful in running politics as they show the way how to develop our country. But creating a mess in the country on the name of religion is completely unbearable. Religion should be applied on the politics but in good aspects.

Thank you.

Religion is a person's identity which defines one's beliefs, ideologies and principles. Politics on the other hand consists of activities to govern a country or a region and its people. Hence, politics and religion have a connection even though they appear to be absolutely different from one another.

Politicians, being the chosen leaders, have the favorable scope of communicating with the people where they try to influence them. Politicians can use various religious beliefs and customs of a certain community to gain their support. It is through religious terms that the politicians can have the greatest impact on the minds of all people who was greatly attached to one's own religion.

Great politicians often use religion to create peace, harmony and unity among the people of a region or a country. They try to inculcate good principles and practices among the people so that the governance runs smoothly.

It only depends on the politicians how they would use religion to influence the people. Now, I would give the opportunity to other members of the group to put forward their opinions on this.

Yes, religion should not be mixed with politics. Rather we can say the politician can help all the religion equally grow in the country. As they have the powers, the resources, they can use it positively to maintain the unity and progress of the nation.

After having read all the comments, I would like to say that just because we have witnessed only the ugly aspect of mixing religion with politics doesn't mean it cannot have a positive outlook.

At home and schools our parents, grandparents and teachers do narrate stories from religious texts to teach their children high moral values and make them know the difference between right and wrong.

Same way our leaders can use religious teachings to guide the masses to a peaceful and tolerant path or at least can give them a noble message ! if done in a correct way "mixing religion with politics" can actually prove to be a blessing in disguise.
