Good evening friends, Polythene bags, nowadays plays a vital role for human beings. Everywhere we find even for a small purpose, we use it. In spite of using of bags, we used polythene bags as we all know that causes a great loss like poisonous effect of soil, fruits and vegetables and such kind of things. From now, if we are not conscious about that, in future we will face a lot of problems. Hence polythene should be banned and govt should lunch strong rule for using polythene bags with fine. Not only govt but we all people should care for that and it should be the habit and we must take bags for our daily use and also paper bags and such type of materials are used to recover the place of polythene bags. It should be the only habit from people to govt to set mind and give up the uses of polythene bags forever from now.

In my opinion, recycling is a better option rather than complete banned of uses of polyethene bags.

Hi everyone,

In my view, polythene should be banned and be remained banned! Ban of polythene came into picture when a major flood disaster that hit Mumbai on 26th July 2005. Not all but, most of the people are unaware of the fact that polythene or plastic neither gets dissolved nor it decomposes. Unaware of this fact, people threw all the plastic bags in their drainage pipes or in the chambers, that led to the blockage of the drain pipes and, cause the reason for the flood. When the authorities came to know about this they immediately asked people to "refuse polythene bags".

An alternative could be to use bags made of cloth. Also, these bags cause harm to animals, as they eat the food items wrapped in plastic or as such.

Polythene bags must be banned because when a polythene bag is burnt it pollutes the environment. I have also seen many people throwing the polythene bags on the roads, the cows and buffaloes eat these bags and they also die, polythene bags are also causing harm to the animals as well as environment. As a responsible citizen we should encourage the people not to use polythene bags and we should tell them to use jute bags. Since jute bags are recyclable.

As many of the people suggested in their views plastic must be banned. It is not necessary. Even though plastic is hazardous to environment. Its substitutes are more hazardous. Say paper bags. These are made from trees and then the wildlife will still be affected. Or say cotton bags. These are economically costly. The ban of plastic o's not necessary but the management of plastic is necessary.

Plastic bags must be banned because it affect our environment, it decreases soil fertility, not decompose in 1000s of years, dangerous for animal respiratory system because can't be digested. We can't stop it immediately but try to stop it.

Polythene bags are nonbiodegradable. They Must be banned. As they take several years to degrade completely, they are poisonous for our surrounding. On burning they release several pollutants which is also one of major factor for global warming.

The good thing is now people have understood about the ill effect of using polythene bags thus they have stopped using it. Instead of polyethene bags, use of jute bags is being encouraged. But there is still few grocery shop which is still doing their business with polythene bags. Government needs to take strict steps against these people. General awareness programme should be taken in cities and towns especially those where percentage of illiterate persons are more to let them know several disadvantages caused by polythene bags.

Grocery shops are not the only user of polyethene bags, there are several retail stores, canteens, vegetable vendor, etc which use these bags. Government should operate a search hunt in order to find polybag users and if caught they should be penalised. We must realise that we have not inherited our resources from our forefathers but we have borrowed it from our children. Sooner, the better.

Plastic products affect wildlife, wildlife habitat or humans. Plastic bags, polyethene covers make the earth.

More pollute. Plastic gets deposited In the soil and will degrade for ever. It creates difficulty in ploughing,

Retards the growth of plants in the fields, poisons the soil. Disposing plastic into water risks the marine life.

Burned plastic releases poisonous chemicals in the air. Plastic wrapping and bags should carry a warning label show the danger of plastic pollution, and shoppers should be encouraged to use their own bags or recycled paper bags.

In my opinion recycling is a better option rather than complete banned of uses of polythene bags. There are no suitable alternate till the day to replace polythene with lightweigt, low cost, mass production etc quality. Paper bag and clothing seems viable but in my opinion its practically impossible to completely replace all polythene bags around the globe which is near 3MMT each month.
