Our Culture is Decaying

I strongly believe that adopting western culture is not a sin, in fact, I must say that it is respecting other countries culture along with your own. A girl wearing jeans or shorts doesn't mean that she has forgotten her so called sanskar. If I m not wrong then I must say men must wear kurta pyjama where ever they go if they are so much into their culture, in fact, they should stop wearing coats and wear traditional dhoti Punjabi and roam in the streets. Our Indian culture is beautiful and is respected by all of us wearing a western cloth is all up to the people's choice. And ya we think that parents feel proud that their children are adopting the western culture and forgetting the Indian culture I will say no to it they are happy that their children are balancing both cultures. I live in QATAR near DUBAI I will say that all Indian students here are very much proud of their identity and follow their customs in fact whenever we meet our elders we make sure we greet them with NAMASTEY UNCLE NAMASTEY AUNTY and touch the feet of our gurus not only that we also pray to god regularly and celebrate all the festivals here.

Now if you are invited to a meeting or a party in TAJ HOTEL in Mumbai how many of you would dress like Gandhiji and attend the official meeting or the party? here the comments I feel are mostly on the topic of today's fashion which is influencing youth.

Being western is not the true mark of modernization. One can wear saree/kurta and still have the broad mind.

It is not crime or shame in accepting western cultures in terms of external things such as technology and in abandoning some contemptible features of our old, misrepresented cultural values that was pestering real human values. In precise words, accept what is good and get rid of what is bad.

It's our choice if we want to wear the cultural dress like salwar kameez or kurta pyjama or street or we want to wear western dress. As an Indian, we should respect our nation but as a human, we should respect every nation. Girls wearing shorts are also making Diwali and also greet elders my saying namaste. Even if they are wearing the western dress they are maintaining their culture.

At last, I would say our culture is not decaying.

Of course, our culture is not decaying as you have seen in my last comment. There are some brothers who are wearing trousers shirt the shirts but they are saying that their sisters should wear the cultural dress. But why? If they can wear the western dress so why can't girls wear western dresses? Ok, the girls will also follow Indian culture if boys also started wearing Kataria and Paijama.

People are often misguided in many ways. I like not to speak about culture but universal moral values that should be adopted by everyone. These moral values are highlighted key aspects of any religion. From these religion stems culture that ensures that right pathway in which a person guided to maintain a happy life and ensures that it does not conflict with other's happiness. These generation's kids adopt Western influence because they it gives them freedom and grants them other happiness which is in conflict with the moral values. Drug abuse, smuggling, uncontrolled lust, greed, gluttony, swindling, murder, betrayal and there is plenty more to say here that goes on in this generation. The world has ultimately become corrupt and nasty. This is not because of westernization nor globalization. Believe me this nothing with them but with ourselves. It depends on upon us, individual. We must to an understanding that we are responsible for our actions and we are accounted for its consequences. The moral values guide us to if not ideal but at least a normal life deprived most of the sins we commit. I urge all brothers and sisters to think about the logical and ethical way of living. We can finally come to Peace if we just follow what's good. Believe me, people are idiotic, they need to guide properly or else its chaos. That's the problem. Both the government and people themselves these days don't know what Right.

I feel that yes our Indian culture is decaying if we asked today's generation what is Bhagwat Gita there is a big question mark on another side if we say to today's generation about best wrapper then yes people know these mean there is a lack of knowledge of India culture tradition and our ancestors.

With foreigners accepting our traditional ways and methodology of living and surviving, we ourselves are just busy in aping their traditions in the name of freedom. But we forget that with freedom comes great responsibility and in this scenario our responsibility is not only to maintain a balance between two cultures but also respect and treat our cultures equally from the depth of our hearts and not just for the heck of it so that we can carry forward our identity with our future generations the way our ancestors did.

According to me, our culture is decaying. In our day to day life, we see people saying that western culture is so "advanced". We also see people saying that we must always follow the western culture but according to me do we ever see those people follow it themselves? I think not. Whenever I go out of my house the one thing I always notice in the streets is the amount of garbage which is spread on the streets. Now this is not an example of westernization. It is true that western people are much more concerned about cleanliness. There is no harm in following the culture of other nations but if we want to follow it we must do it sincerely. Our forefathers were not like us. They always maintained the cleanliness because of their clear minds or some or the other superstitions. Nowadays the people of our nation have become more rich, more powerful, and more blind to all the moral values. Therefore they do what they want to do and follow their own minds without thinking about the consequences. Therefore I conclude that our culture is decaying and it will certainly decay if we don't take the appropriate measures to stop it.
