Education is the ultimate weapon to take away the remnants of a caste based society. If it itself discriminates based on caste then that sprouts the wrong idea in mind of individuals. Education must be made cheaper and of more quality so that the deserving students would never miss their chance for education but also make sure that the quality of education is not compromised at any costs.
Reservation based on caste creates new forms of discriminations as the deserving are denied their chances and also create a sense of injustice in them simultaneously creating a feeling of inferiority in the minds of students backed with reservation. So if at all reservations are given they should be based on income. What is more needed is proper awareness about the importance of education and aspirational thinking from a young age itself.

Guys who are against reservation, I have a simple answer for you.
Abolish the caste system, abolish reservations!
Seriously man do you have to educate yourself before speaking on this? Do you even know how much castism is practised daily in India? Every day 10 Dalit women are raped you know?
Daily there are dozens of caste atrocities happening around. I haven't seen a single general or so-called upper caste pointing that out.
You want everything in your side, Caste title to dominate everyone, good respect in society and education too on your side. Every 5 people out of 6 people who are at below the poverty line are Sc/St/Obc. Do you even know how much trauma is left behind due to castism in the so-called lower cast? And I again say this.
Abolish the caste system and abolish reservations! Always up for debate.

In the 21st century when we are dreaming of INDIA as a "DEVELOPED NATION" reservation in higher education should be removed. For social equality the government can give facilities and incentives in other aspects but not in education. As a result of reservation, many talented students are not getting a chance to study in many reputed institutions this ultimately results in the loss of human resource for a nation. Selection in higher education should be purely on merit basis. We are thinking that by giving reservation we are maintaining social equality but I completely oppose this idea I think we are creating inequality because we are giving a chance to a low standard reserved category student to pursue higher education simultaneously causing the loss of talent of a high standard unreserved category student.

Reservation was introduced by Dr BR Ambedkar to provide equal rights to lower caste. Before Independence India was divided into many castes. People from lower caste dislike by upper caste. Lower caste people had no opportunity to became a respectful person.
But now condition has been changed Govt provide them right of equality. Now their financial condition has been changed. Poor people from upper caste had been suffered.
Reservation in the study is very wrong because of it merit student didn't get the opportunity and incapable person got a job.
Other countries are developed because they have no reservation. They only check their talent and skill.
In my opinion, instead of the caste based reservation, it should be financially based. So that poor people can get a chance to prove ourselves.

There are still many villages where the condition of backwards classes is still dreadful. Even, some of the people of this community still cannot get the benefits of reservation because of the ultimate poverty. It is true that good financial backwards classes people use the benefits of reservation, but still if you the see the overall scenario of community, they are still not on the merge to be said developed as the higher caste are.
So, it doesn't matter whether rich backward people use the reservation, poor backward still unable to use the benefits of reservation.
There is improvement over the years in the condition of backwards, but there is still a need for the continuation of reservation system for the betterment, to get that economic status equivalent to the upper classes.

Hello Everyone, As per the discussion I would like to say that reservations should be there, but if anyone says that only the people belonging to the category are getting chance to learn and reserved seats are available for only those. Then I would like to say it is just a big misunderstanding because of our great leader Dr. BR Ambedkar, we are getting the opportunities to learn and put forward our ideas and be one of the parts of these developing nation.
The all thinkings of CASTE is a bullshit thing, which is not the reason to judge that opportunities are not getting to the people who don't fall under categories.
So stop saying that stop reservation, if you want that all must get the chance then government must implement certain rules so that all will get chance to learn.

I think reservation is the best way to achieve equality among people. Before reservation, every person of low caste suffers from different traumas, torture, and things like untouchability. They even did not get the opportunity to sit in the class. The girls who are willing that the reservation should be banned, have forgotten that the right they are getting to get jobs with higher priority are due to reservation.
I think there is a need for reservations in India because if it gets banned the situation will be even worse than before the reservation, the Dalits will suffer more as compared to before. There is so less quantity of girls and boys of open caste who belong to poor families, and if they are very talented then no one can stop them from achieving success.

Hi friends.
In my opinion reservation should not be given in higher studies, because at the time of independence reservation was given a slot in the constitution by Dr.B.R. Ambedkar to eradicate the differences and ensuring equal status to the backward caste. The provision of reservation was made only for ten years but later on it was politicized for vote banks by politicians.
But as in current scenario almost differences has been rooted out form our society and people of backward caste has also got opportunity in almost all sectors. So I think instead of giving reservation for higher studies primary and secondary education in government school should be modernized. Eg. E-teaching, recruiting teachers with proper training prior to joining schools.

This whole discussion is revolving around the fact that reservation is the only way to empower downtrodden, which is not correct. For last 50 years this policy is in place and we can see that the only thing which it has promoted is the degradation of quality. It's not reaching deep enough in the social strata, helping only those people who already are economically.
So the best thing would be to buttress the social support system, be it monthly payments to support weaker sections of society so that children don't need to work, provide free and quality education in government institutes (starting from primary education) and above all making it a mission so that common public who is self sufficient gets involved to lift up their fellow citizens.

Hello Everyone.
Reservation is defined as a system of providing special privileges to certain groups based on caste rather than merit.
While the intention behind reservation is to uplift the underprivileged, it has created disparities by prioritizing caste over individual capability. Merit-based opportunities are essential for national progress, and reservation often leads to inefficiency by granting seats to less-qualified candidates over more deserving ones.
Instead of caste-based reservation, financial assistance and skill-based support should be provided to truly uplift the economically weak, regardless of caste. Thus, reservation, in its current form, hampers fairness and should be reconsidered for a meritocratic system.
