Hi friends.
India is a developing country, and day to day reduce petrol & diesel storage. However, a present life Electric vehicles use will increase & cost will be less. So, India definitely ready for electric vehicles.
Thank you.

Yes, according to me, India is ready for electric vehicles. As electric vehicles are expensive. But they have a very low maintenance cost and they don't want any type of conventional fuels (diesel or petrol). And electricity is a very clean source of energy and if one wants he can put a solar cell on his rooftop and then it will be a one-time investment and he can save a lot of money. But there is a flow with electric vehicles that their performance is very low and we do not have any fuel station like the conventional fuel station. So if the govt of India can do something can do anything on this problem then there is a very bright future of electric vehicles in India. And as the use of electric vehicles can lead to decrease the pollution and will fairly reduce the cost of transportation for the common men.

I don't think that India is ready as of now. To reach to this kind of development, it will at the very minimum take 10 years. There are certain points which I need to put to prove this point. India is a kind of country where people don't easily get into the habit of attempting something out of league. Here perception of people around us matter more. The fall of Nano is a very good example of this. Its not about a vehicle, its about owning a status symbol.
The second thing is that EVs have had a pretty bad public perception owing to the poor initial impressions and performance of the EVs which have till now been introduced in India.
The third major concern is the absence of the EV infrastructure. India is a vast country. To set up the kind of infrastructure required for supporting the EVs on road will definitely take time.
And with these factors in mind there are very less chances that Indian EV market will attract the Carmakers to take this kind of risk.

I think it will be great initiative but when we think deeply about the electric cars we will find that petrols car are much better the EV because in now situation we are mostly generating energy by thermal power plant and this seems that we are creating pollution because T.P.P runs by coals and gases and this makes pollution. So, as we will use EV then we will consume more energy and get polluted to environment. So it's good to us electric cars but, when we will produce pollution free energy like nuclear power and hydroelectric power because it is in less amount in India.

Hey friends.
I think it will be the best initiative if India will have electric vehicles and ban patrol vehicles. And as Shanmu said electric vehicles are 100% eco friendly.

No. India is not ready for EV because in many cities there is no charging station everywhere. So this is not used in India.

As we accept that today the price of petrol and pollution increase day by day but the mileage and power give to the engine only by petrol. Which is not given by electric vehicles. Today petrol pump available every where and takes very short time to fill petrol tank of the vehicle. But electric vehicles takes lots of time to recharge. Some time it's seen that electric vehicle are fail to pick more than 6 people due to bad engin quality. And the speed of electric vehicles also a problem for those who want to reach their destination very soon. Now most of the people prefare petrol vehicle rather than EV.

India have thinking on that electrical vehicles. Because in our India electricity power are not available every where. But we can provide the charging system to vehicles same like as mobile. So people can be use vehicle hole day.
Because in our India the petrol rate and diesel rates are increasing day to day. And also pollution are increasing.

Yes, I think India is ready for EV because the pollution in the metro cities is increasing day by day. The price of petrol and diesel is increasing day by day and for this, we have to use EV. As my friend said that charging station is required so the government is planning for this.
