Villages- strength or weakness of India.

Even after 65 years of independence, India is highly an agriculture based nation. As per the 2011 census, there exist 6.38 lakh villages comprising 72.20% of total population of India. Earlier villages are considered as the places with unpolluted air, lush green fields and diverse animal species like cattle, sheep, ducks etc. The sunrise and sunset in these villages will show the best scenic beauties of nature. But these days villages are losing its sheen because of natural calamities and improper government policies.

Some of the major problems of Indian villages are:

Healthcare facilities:

In India, most of the villages don't possess even a small hospital. The people in these places have to run to nearby towns or cities to receive treatment or medicines. Because of the shortage of hospitals and qualified medical professionals several diseases which can be prevented are still prevalent in India. Even though Indian pharmaceutical industry has been growing by leaps and bounds, the availability of medicines are still not within the reach of common man.

Educational facilities:.

Recently the Government of India declared education as a fundamental right to all the children of India who are below 14 years of age. Many villages don't possess schools and some villages possess schools with mud walls, which fall to rains in every rainy season or schools with improper sanitation facilities. The children need to walk several kilometers to study. Some schools will not receive text books by the end of the academic year. Even though the central government introduced schemes like Afternoon Meals and Sarva Shiksa Abiyaan are not reducing this problem because of their in effective implementation.

Infrastructure facilities:

Agriculture sector is the top employment provider in India followed by retail sector and cattle rearing (dairy farms and poultry). Indian agriculture is highly monsoon dependent and in order to reduce the monsoon dependency, a plan to interconnect all the rivers of India was proposed. That plan is still not implemented. Along with natural calamities like floods and draught, the policies of government are also making farming a loss making profession. On one hand the prices of seeds and fertilizers are rising and on the other hand the support prices for the agricultural products are falling. Even though government of India has been providing financial support through loans from banks, they are not providing a platform to reap benefits or to make profits of the products produced by them. The recommendations of Mr. Swaminathan committee (i. E. To provide a support price for every product such that farmers make an income of 50%) are still in pending for approval.

Industrial sector influence:

In order to make agriculture profitable, the measures that are to be taken are:

1. Posting agriculture researchers and engineers in villages to teach the modern techniques of agriculture to farmers.

2. Conducting soil tests and informing farmers about the crops that suits best for their soil and encouraging organic farming in their fields.

3. Mechanization of the farming equipment with tractors.

4. Providing sufficient support prices for the agriculture products.

Conclusion.

As all these aspects are painting the village side of India as a gloomy one where huge amounts of wealth used to be there in the past, if the agriculture sector of India is revived by providing proper infrastructure facilities villages turn out to be the real strength of our nation.

VILLAGES - STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESS.

In India, there are almost above 6.5 lakhs of villages which are the main source of Indian economy that is to with agriculture which has a vital role. Villages are big boon and strength to India. People in the village are very innocent, ethical and physically healthy.

Villages have less population unlike cities they have very free area to cultivate and many have fertile lands whereas in cities all lands are polluted with increase in population. Increase in population in certain place increase problems, for example, shelter, food, resources, etc.

Village people have good relationships, equality and unity. For an instance, if one stranger is in a village he will be treated and be helpful to him/her. They will be satisfied with what they are that is content.

Agriculture is the main occupation in villages. Many required food items are being produced from villages. To an extent people in village are content. But when a situation arise that which enables them to survive people migrate.

The main consequences are:
- Unemployment.
- Being poor.
- Illiterate.
- Lack of facilities (transportation infrastructure, hospitals electricity etc).
- Lack of help from the government.
- Belief in getting good jobs in cities.
- Lack of technology.

These are some reasons for villages having weakness. People innocence in villages are becoming the strengths of cities or politicians and some others. We the people from rural areas have a responsibility of not only being educated but also educating our ow village at least.

Some general solutions to overcome these problems are creating awareness through conducting programmes. Specifically, we have to initiate it in our village forming some groups with commitment.

Becoming a digital world some apps are to be created such that every new technique for helping people or increase their productivity can be updated.

The problem of unemployment can also be solved to an extent if government start a committee of people developed in different fields and start people educating about these things. Government should improve the technology in villages, richest in cities can adopt villages, educated people from villages can go back to their village implementing some sophisticated technologies.

Developing villages by constructing schools, roads, hospitals, water tank, sanitation facilities and some other productive things. A direct trade of farmers with customers is very essential nowadays.

Finally, the impact of creating awareness in people changes the mode of village where everything comes with village.

RICHNESS OF INDIA IS IN VILLAGES, BUT THE RICHEST ARE IN CITIES.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Yukti Varshney.

There are few points where we can say that village are our strength-.

1- Since we know more than 70% people live in village and our most of economy is based on agriculture, so villages are the main resource to get our bread and butter.

2. Villages are real identity of India where we get actual scenario of India.

3. Unfortunately Indian villages do not have that sort of resources and ample development as it should be.

4. Villages are real assets of us. Gen X should understand how agriculture is so much valuable profession. People take it as down manner. We can make India more rich by seeding in children to have value of agriculture. Through the advanced technology we can make India more powerful and developed. We are very much loty that India has so much favourable weather to grow even ilk of crops.

5. Government should make awareness program in urban areas so that new generation should not migrate to urban area and Accommodate themselves in agriculture.

6. Children are not knowing the richness of Indian soil. They do not understand that agriculture is dignify profession. We always tease children those are backward in their study that if you are not studying you will be sent to village to have agriculture work. So from the beginning children are not ready to adopt agriculture as good profession.

7. By using technology we can grow more and more crops. India is popular form many kind of crops. So all these are the facts to understand with clarity.

8. Villages are having very good air to breath. They are less polluted. We feel to close with Nature in village. The life style in village is so simple and less of pomp and show. People love to go early to bed and early to rise which make them more healthier in comparison to urban people. They believe in simple life no night party and all like in metro cities. In villages there are real taste of join family. People understand the emotions of each other. Then do not show fake emotions. People are not passing through much tension like jobers in cities. Whole village is considered one family. People help each other a lot. They celebrate every festival with full enthusiasm.

All in all I would like to say, villages are having real life they are priceless jewels of the nation.

Thanks!

Hello Everyone.

My name is Subhashini.

Today our topic is about Indian villages is our strengths or weaknesses.

Indian villages can be seen as both a strength and a weakness, depending on the perspective and context. Here are some points to consider:

Strengths:

1. Cultural Heritage: Indian villages are rich in cultural heritage, traditions, and practices that have been preserved for generations. They showcase the diversity and uniqueness of India's cultural fabric.
2. Natural Environment: Villages are generally less polluted and have a closer connection to nature, promoting a healthier lifestyle and preserving natural resources and biodiversity.

Weakness:
1. Lack of Infrastructure: Many villages suffer from inadequate infrastructure, including poor roads, unreliable electricity, and insufficient water supply, which hampers economic development and quality of life.
2. Limited Access to Education and Healthcare: Educational facilities and healthcare services are often underdeveloped in villages, leading to lower literacy rates, poor health outcomes, and limited opportunities for upward mobility.
3. Economic Challenges: Villages may face economic challenges due to limited job opportunities, low-income levels, and lack of access to markets. This can lead to poverty and migration to urban areas in search of better opportunities.

Conclusion:
Indian villages can be seen as a strength due to their cultural richness, agricultural importance, and community spirit. However, they also face significant challenges, particularly in terms of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. With targeted development policies, investment, and modernization efforts, the strengths of Indian villages can be enhanced, and their weaknesses can be addressed, leading to more balanced and inclusive growth for the entire country.

Hello everyone, I'm Asaraful Shaikh.

According to me, Indian villages are our strengths as well as weakness.

First, see how Indian villages are our strength:

Villages are the backbone of India because most of the food crops come from the villages. So literally, villages are feeding everyone.

Indian villages are repositories of India's rich cultural heritage. They are home to various art forms, crafts, music, and traditional practices that are an integral part of Indian culture.

Around 43% of the Indian population was employed in the agricultural sector as per 2020-21 data. 4. Also agriculture sector generates 33% of the GDP. That is the third highest GDP generator after the service and Industry sector.

Now, See the weakness of Indian villages:

Education and Literacy rate: Education makes people independent, and builds confidence and self-esteem, which is very important for the development of a country. In India, the Literacy rate among persons (aged 7 years and above) is about 77.7 percent. In rural areas, the literacy rate was 73.5 percent as compared to 87. 7% in urban areas.

Economic Challenges: Indian villages face significant economic challenges, including a lack of access to quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. This leads to poverty and underdevelopment.

Conclusion :
Indian villages play a crucial role in supporting the country's population through agricultural production, preserving cultural heritage, and being a significant source of employment and GDP generation. Uneducation is the only thing that prevents India from becoming a developing country. As I said in rural areas the education rate is low as compared to urban areas. If a good quality of education is not provided to villagers, definitely, Indian villages will definitely become resistant to the development of India.

Greetings to everyone,

I would like to say on the both aspect,

Indian Villages are Strength because they provide the Food for whole state and also around 60 % employment and contribute to GDP by around 13%.

And because of raw materials for many products provided by villages only, the development and sustenance of Cities is possible.

It maintain the ecological balance, are literally pollution free, people are also more healthy here.

Villages shows how to live in unity, with loyalty with each other.

Negative points are.

In villages level of education is low both quantity and quality wise, unemployment and underemployment is common, lack of water supply and electric supply is there, sanitation problem is there, health care facility is rarely available, population growth is more, lack of financial assistance and other basic facilities are not readily available.

Transport facilities are not there for easy trading and business in villages.

Inter caste and religious hatred is there, status of women and children is not at par. Lack of professionalism is there in there dealings. People in villages still follow the old malpractice and superstition.

They are not open minded for the use of modern technologies.

I know my view are more in favor of Weakness:- Because these are the fact people are moving towards the cities, Cities are expanding, they are more fun, welcoming, availability of facilities is there (govt. Sponsored) , so people are ready to sacrifice the former advantages.

Govt and public has to put more effort for the development of villages for uniform growth in India.

Hi,

Indian villages are definitely our strength if appropriately utilized. I will explain to you how:

1. Companies like ZOHO have started their operations in villages and become a huge successes so what is the difference:: People like Sridhar Vembu who are from villages and well-educated wanted to start their dream companies in their villages. Yes, turning a village into a commercial business hub is hard but not impossible. Commercial means it can happen in agricultural commodity business for ex: Honey, Fish farming, and export of Agri commodities directly from village to port with no intermediaries.

2. Education may not be reaching many parts but in most rural areas today education is accessible what's happening is people are leaving for bigger cities so the government has introduced many schemes for MSME and small-scale industries. So if tailor-based education is given to the graduates of villages regarding business and Mentoring needs to happen to such graduates regarding useful schemes and loans then yes we can definitely see change.

3. AMUL started its operations in a village now we can see where its conglomerates are. I mean there are many such instances so if we utilize villages properly let me tell you the advantages:

A. Less cost of capital compared to cities.

B. Reduced Pollution in villages when compared to cities.

C. We can beat economies like china in terms of the small-scale industrial revolution.

I want to conclude by saying that if villages are utilized properly then yes they can beat urban GDP and they will really become the backbone of the country.

In my opinion, ultimate outcome of this question is Yes, it does lean towards positivity that villages are truly the backbone and strength of any country or India but we should be asking the question are villages really being the strength or contributing to maximum potential?

Don't look at the numbers that 70% population blah blah blah is agriculture-dependent in villages but think about the fact that even that its the case is this 70% making enough per capita income if there's mainly one family member deemed to have earned it. In a sense income from just farm gets divided into individuals of the family and the per capita income basically drops sometimes lower to than of lowest-paid government employees? The talk about education and health-care seems to fall too far because we need a strong core and economy which is still an issue because most people are not self-sufficient.

Sure villages have kept traditions alive but have they enforced enough modern technology to boost productions enough to compete overall with huge modern business through financial standpoints?

We are still in an era that most schemes applied, brought to most villages are not about really about development standpoint but still about ensuring survival or basic needs, even those are deprived in a sense.

To conclude, we need to find a middle way on our own, not inspired by western countries or any other to infuse the traditions and modern technology, we need our own minds aspired to create modern solutions, to look up new ways to do things and open new doors of possibilities in villages.

Good Morning Friends,

According to me, Indian villages are backbone of my country. And it is culture and habits of the country. The villages are mainly used for the farmers. So farmers are pillers of the country. So villages are our strength of the country. If there is no villages the future generations will be affect by the many problems.

According to the current generation, there are 80 percentage of people, we will encourage the agriculture. Agriculture is backbone of my indain country. And also not Indian only the agriculture will helpful for over all the world.

The next think important think is how to develop the agriculture and what are the problems are rectified for the agriculture. So the villages are must be important for the farmers. So our strength is always indain villages.

There are many technologies will be implemented in the agriculture department.

But the current situation is villages are becoming cities. Then the 70 percentage villages made cities by the new technology.

But still there is 30 percentage of the villages just like does not any improvement. That is one of the saddest news. There is no electrical power and no new things and no any facilities like bus, train, other things. The government must provide the facilities in those villages.

Because villages are very important for everyone. This is providing the food and fruits and other things. If there is no agriculture, then there is no food and no water. So save villages in current manner and utilize it and maintain and manage our agriculture.

Thanking You.

Hello Friends,

According to me, Indian villages are our strength or our weakness it is so difficult to differentiate it. But we can say that it is like a two-side of coin. Indian villages are strength because, agriculture is the backbone of India more than 60% of people depends on upon agriculture those people are mostly from villages, villages are pollution free, fresh vegetables, good climatic conditions, moreover health care services are establishing in villages because of pollution free and good climatic conditions.

Villages are strength because of all Food material like rice, wheat, pulse, vegetables, etc. Are produced from villages land. If there is no village then we can;t gate it. Our country is also an agriculture sovereign. There mostly peoples are dependent on agriculture.

So in my point of view villages also absolutely strength, and in some cases villages are lake of education, lake of new technology, they have not any option to gate updated but this is not due to weakness this is because of our government not pay attention to villages side. So I want to say we should not think our villages are weakness. Our villages become strength in all field if our government will pay attention. I am also from a small village, there is no good condition of light, there is no good road. In our village mostly people are not well educated. I am the first girl from my village who became an engineer. I proud to myself I'm from a village.

So villages of India is always strength, it can't be weakness.

Thanks.
