Foreign Television Channels are Destroying Our Culture

In my point of view the channel is not only change our culture so do not blame the foreign channels they don't ask you to change the culture we are only change the some sort of things based on habit, way of living dress codes etc. We are Indians so we don't copy from others we want teach our culture to foreign people that is a Indian culture.

Channel is not a problem humans the way of thinking is the problem.

We can never say that foreign channels are destroying our culture just before we say that we should first ask our selves that are we not that strong to hold our culture firmly. Foreign channels show their culture & they never ask you to copy those what they show. After being matured people are actually eligible to take or adapt right things therefore do adapt the good stuffs & forget the wrong stuff (according to our culture). But when it comes about our little children then for them there parents or the elderly people around them should be strict & cautious enough to deprive them from viewing such stuffs nothing else can be done cause television is the only medium where everything can be shown be it adult movies, be it animated movies for children or traditional stuffs.

I like to say that foreign channels are not destroying our culture. They are just showing what their culture is. But they never asked us to follow their culture. Right? then why should we blame them?

Our country, India. Has a great culture and tradition which is respected and liked by the whole world. We should feel proud about it. The thing is, how an individual receiving the things shown in foreign channels? it depends upon an individual. And the foreign channels really gives lots of information which we doesn't get from our channels. The best example is Discovery channel. Everything we watch in it is very informative and useful. Helps to improve our knowledge on it. So it depends on us what we take from those channels and what we ignore.

TAKE THE GOOD. LEAVE THE BAD. !

I think In my opinion, I am not agree that foreign television channels are responsible for it because it provide us so many knowledge of channels like discovery, animal planet, history, national geographic channel and so on. Foreign channels enhancing our knowledge.

We are human and knew that what is right or wrong. There are so many Indian and Foreign shows on TV which is diverting our mind, specially young generation. It depend on us in which types of shows we are watching on TV. Finally we have to watch knowledgeable and entertainment shows.

There are a number of foreign channels which give us valuable information. Those channels of course show some sort of over exposure which we consider vulgar but actually part of their culture. So we indians are not suppose to blame them for that because even in our custom earlier women were not allowed to dress properly.

So my point is that our culture is deeprooted and hence impossible to get destroyed by a foreign channel. We should keep in mind that only we can contaminate our culture by inculcating their habits to our routine. So if our culture get destroyed we are responsible and we are to be blamed for that.

In INDIA we have different television channels from different nations like US, UK etc. As all those are foreign channels there are movies and some other programs which reflect their culture and habits. What we all have to do is just to watch the channel programs and to know about their culture, language, their way of speaking, accent, their way of living. If it is better than ours we should try to inpliment in our lives. But this judgement is depend on ones mindset. We have our own culture and they had their own culture. We can't compare these things.

Of course, government had made all the foreign channels available for us. There will be no develoment if we consider our culture is top without considering all other cultures. We should observe their lifestyle their innovative programs if any and we should try to broad up our knowledge.

In the same way there are also other channels like Discovery, Animal planet which deals with the nature, science, etc. There are no Indian channel in this fashion. It is good opportunity for us to know about all the different kinds of birds, animals, through this channels.

So I conclude that No foreign channel will try to distroy our culture. The Indian culture is developed by Indians and all indians should respect it and should not forget it though he had well known with the other nation cultures.

All of you are true and logical..its depend on ourselve how to take things. we need to change aour attitude, grasp only that thing who is good for us.Our indian culture is pure and diffrent. we must give respect and value it.

I don't think that foreign channels are destroying our culture. Infact it providing us various technical knowledge which Indian channels are not able to providing due to budget etc. You can see there are so many Indian channels are there which providing some uncensored kind of programs. So it depend on one how he would take it. Foreign cartoon channels providing more knowledgeble programs by which children can learn some basic things of schooling & they can aware of various things. So I would say that foreign television channels are not destroying Indian culture rather they are providing more appropriate channels.

According to my opinion foreign channels are not at all destroying our culture. They are the one of the means of learning foregin languages and knowing their culture. Morever, people in India need to know outside culture as most of the Indian countries are doing business with western companies. And in addition to it, if children in India are adopting the western culture so it is of concern with upbringing of their parents.

I'm thirteen years old. And I'm not a Indian citizen. I'm a pure sri lankan. But India and sri lanka are very close countries. So I think our cultures are also very similar to each other. Foreign channels don't distroy our cultures. If we use it as a tool it won't do any harm to us. But the problem is most of us think that they are the reason why our cultures fade away smoothly. ! if we look deep into this problem, we can perfectly figure out that its our own minds which distroys our cultures.
