According to me, I think extra curricular activities must be there in any schools. We all know that 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'. This line signifies the importance of extra curricular activities. There are many students who are not that much interested in studies but interested in other activities like singing, dancing, gymnastics, cricket, badminton etc. So, if extra curricular activity is not there in schools then these students would not be able to showcase their talents. Moreover, extra curricular activities also increases concentration power and help in our studies also. Besides, it plays an important role in improvement of communication skills, time management etc.

It is said that "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Well, a healthy mind will never reside in a body that does only mental work. I indeed, feel that extra-curricular activities must be made compulsory in school.

1) It will provide a relief from the tiresome continuous lecture classes.

2) It will unveil the hidden talents of many students, who might have earlier not been able to show them because of lack of a suitable platform.

3) It will assist in making the students apply their knowledge, as they need to understand that application of their knowledge is very essential. For example, if a student X scores highest in the class in English Literature (by mugging up answers), but cannot write even a single paragraph error-free, then what is the use of his education?

4) The students would learn many moral values like cooperation, team work, patience, etc. Because such things can never be taught by lectures: they are learned when a student personally participates in such events.

5) Moreover, if a student due to some reasons, cannot participate in one activity, he can participate in another activity; such arrangements must be available in school.

Thus in my opinion, every school must have a list of extra-curricular activities and it must be compulsory for every student to participate in at least 1 of his choice.

Hi friends,

It's my opinion, First I agree with this topic. Because today world most expecting talent students. But some school focusing on how to get high marks and how to get the first place in our school. This is the current situation in school. (I said only for few school not at all). However some school encouraging the student and they respect the talents. So students are increasing the skills. Extracurricular activities should be made compulsory in school. Teacher's will be encouraging the student and said half of the study should be half of the games. For example in the world today, there are more talented and achieved our dreams. (Sachin, Michel Jackson). So "Education can identify a man" but "Skills proves a man life's, further help me show your way of life". Indeed in today's world, talent is a great competition and its also war. Finally skill should be developed in each school. (because this is a student's life). Extracurricular activities exist for all students.

Thank you, friends!

Good evening,

At the very beginning before talking about this topic. I would like to show my greet to giving this interesting topic which brings me a different thought about many students I have seen from my school days including my friends who has their unique talents in them. Education is not about subjects it is a way of teaching students where and how to expose their talents in many ways. Everyone is equally talented in different ways. Some will be interested in sports, dance, singing, gk, gymnastics which brings their own potentials. Our king of cricket Sachin Tendulkar completed his education at the class of 10th and he stepped into cricket which is one of the extra-curricular activities providing chances to many students in schools and colleges etc.

Talents have no end. It can be expressed in every way.

The effects of stepping into extra-curricular activities make students physically and mentally relaxed on earlier days students through this way and still it is happening to mold our students in different ways by providing various inter-school competitions. Thank you.

In my opinion, extracurricular activities should be made compulsory in schools. It is as if the base of a build strong, it can bear earthquake similarly if the base of education of a child is good, he will do good in future. Extracurricular activities promote the overall development of a student. A student should not be limited to studies. He/ she should be given exposure to various kind of extra activities. Students will not be hesitant to go to stage otherwise it is observed that students at later stage feel of the stage. They could not express themselves in front of the crowd. They lack leadership skills. They may find their keen interest in some activities and they can pursue a career in that field. Besides, students should participate in the various competition at school level. It will develop competency among them. All companies nowadays demand competent and skilled persons for a job and these skills are developed in schools.

Making extra curricular activities compulsory in schools has several benefits. It ensures overall growth and development of the students. It enhances the personality and develops confidence. However not every student is willing to take part. Some are shy and introvert. But as the benefits are immense, it should be made compulsory taking into consideration some aspects. For instance, the performance in extra curricular activities can be linked with academic performance to reflect the real performance of a student. Also, efforts should be made to ensure that there is a balance between academics and extra curricular activities as both are equally important.

Of course extra curricular activities should be made mandatory in schools. It has multiple benefits associated with it. Right from shaping the persona of a student, to providing a healthier body it has several advantageous effects on us. As we all know "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy". So its very well suited over here. Extras sharpen our concentration and increase our efficiency and performance level in studies or any concerned area. Apart from this, it teaches the qualities like teamwork, leadership building. Co-curricular have tremendous effects on our personality from. Teaching us to more patient to encouraging us to be disciplined. In the current scenario, where there is cut-throat competition in every field, mandating co-curricular at school is very helpful for proper shaping as well as the stable state of our mind, make it resistant to mental disorders like depression.

Extra curricular activities give chance to express and expression is very important. Long time absence of expression causes suppression. Long time suppression causes normal expression to appear like a reaction. Reaction instead of expression is the root cause of all the introvert students to lose many good opportunities. It is really very important for a student to take part in extra curriculum activities which would develop their Communication skills, team building ability, handling criticism, time management and many more skills.

Yes. Extra curricular activities include sports, yoga, indoor games, literary and cultural activities etc. All this should be included in a school's curriculum as it will help in all round development of children. Only studying might help children in short run but studies with extra curricular activities will help in long run, in building a good future.

If I had been given the choice of deciding between academic and extracurricular activities I would have preferred both has a equal part in a student career growth, on one side academics which gives you the knowledge about the things on the other hand extra curricular activities helps us to utilize or bring into the action what we have learnt in the academics.
