Hello everyone,

I am Gaurav.

Both EQ and IQ are important for better survival.

We have to first understand what basically they mean,

EQ stands for Emotional intelligence and is the capability of understanding other people's thought and signal. This surely will help us in becoming better at things which we do in our daily life. How we perceive things impacts greater and here EQ plays a great role in making us more confident.

Whereas IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient which depends heavily on how we think and reason.

IQ generally relates us to knowledge base while EQ to emotions and social based.

Thanks.

Agree with you @Raj Gopal Menon.

According to me, EQ comes on the softer side or shows the softer side of human, I completely agree with this point, but sometimes when anger, impatience and other emotions can cause many problems when we work at a job in which every single decision is crucial. So, in my opinion EQ doesn't only stands for softer side.

Other than that IQ is something that is either inbuilt by birth or can be built by practicing reasoning and logical problems, and is very much important in making decisions at any level.

And according to me, IQ and EQ both are required at every level and aspect.

Hi Guys.

After reading many comments on EQ and IQ, I have found that only a few people in the forum have actual knowledge about what I/EQ is.

There was a book published in 1935/36 by Carnegie Institutions written by Dale Carnegie. 15% professional or personal success depends on technical knowledge and 85% success depends on your soft skills. A wide array of soft skills includes how you interact with others in office or society while not hurting their emotion in any way. And the best way to cultivate this skill, people need to understand themselves as a human being before understanding other people.

Thanks.

Hello, everyone.

According to me, IQ matters the most even though the value of quality education cannot be undermined. Education quality definitely plays an important role in boosting your development trait, personality. But then again, real creativity doesn't require quality education and it can find its way anywhere where student possessing it has the interests in. A creative mind requires knowledge about things which he can get through books and even social media. Take Einstien, Thomas alert edison right brothers for example. Could have they achieved what they had they not blessed with IQ Of cource not.

Many of us have already voted in favor of both Eq and IQ for those I really want to ask a question if IQ really means intelligence. Then why it's different for people of different age?

IQ dependent upon one's knowledge at that particular time it can be easily improved by enhancing one's knowledge that is why we see when people repeatedly try to pass a particular exam he/she improves!

Even a psychopath can have extraordinary IQ point but that is not in case of Eq it depends upon a person's instinct that he/she develops throughout his life.

Hence I can definitely say that Eq holds better position than IQ.

Hello,

I am Akshit.

Here we are discussing EQ and IQ. As from my opinion, EQ and IQ both are important in our daily life as well as in our personal relations. Firstly, let us understand the meaning of EQ and IQ. EQ means emotional quotient where IQ means intelligence quotient. Better EQ is essential for our personal and social behaviour and character and better IQ is essential for our knowledge and sharpness of mind. Both act as two wheels in our life in form of a cycle. If one would be weak then the life of a person would not successfully compete. So both EQ and IQ are important in our life.

Thanks.

In my point of view, both EQ and IQ are important because they are like two different sides of a coin EQ deals with our personal feelings and IQ deals with our intelligence, every organisation want to have such employees who can balance both in similar manner, EQ is required to work properly with his/her team, and to manage risk, stress and to move on with any kind of situation but I Q deals with ones intelligence I, e how well he/ she can perform in maths, logics, reasonings and he/ she manages the situation logically hence I conclude that EQ and IQ is essential In same quantities without EQ no IQ.

According to me, weightage of EQ should be more than IQ, because if you are perfect in EQ than you can manage with less IQ for eg if you have good personality, skills and way of communication, good attitude (which comes under EQ) can face any competitive situation and in the same way although you have strong IQ but poor EQ then no one will take you seriously or you will be less focused or few people will join you.

So overall conclusion is that you don't need to have a balanced or same level of IQ or EQ. If you are best in EQ then you can easily survive in this competitive era with less IQ.

An EQ and IQ both are equally important for a person to be successful. IQ helps the person to decide logically, practically and also accurately. A person with higher IQ level will be a spontaneous thinker and they will be able to arrive at a solution quickly. But IQ alone doesn't help the person to be successful. EQ is also very important because EQ helps the person to know the exact mental perspective of the other person. With the help of EQ a person can find out whether that particular person is producing a true information or not. So it is always better to have a blend of IQ and EQ.
