In my opinion, both EQ and IQ are important at their places but I have to choose one of them I will prefer EQ over IQ because a person should have good control on their emotions IQ can be increased by the books but EQ comes with the life experiences. A person having good EQ can work more properly and calmly than the person having high IQ. I totally agree with the other views that a person having high IQ and no EQ is not able to differentiate between personal and professional life, according to me the person who is emotionally stable can do anything. So yes I prefer EQ over IQ.

IQ is more technical term. It's an indicator of cognitive capacity, specifically it's one's ability in thinking and reasoning. In 1921, Lewis Terman (Psychologist at Standford University) interviewed and selected roughly 1500 kids from all over the world with an IQ around 150 or above. He hypothesized that these kids would become great policy makers, Nobel laureates, famous professors or great artists. But only a few kids are successful in life. One more fact I want to mention here, Chris Langan (IQ 195, more than Einstein). But he is not a Nobel laureate. So, only IQ does not guarantee success. In the case of EQ, people with well-developed emotional skills are more likely to be content and effective in their lives, mastering the habits of the mind that foster their own productivity; whereas people who cannot marshal some control over their emotional life will fight inner battles that sabotage their ability for focused work and clear thought. Life success is a result of both factors. Both IQ and EQ undoubtedly play roles in influencing your overall success, as well as things such as health, wellness, and happiness. Rather than focusing on which factors might have a more dominant influence, the greatest benefit may lie in learning to improve skills in multiple areas.

Life is all about balance. The batter you make balance the happier your life will be. EQ and IQ both are the wheels of life anyone of them can't be removed. EQ means emotional quotient and IQ stands for Intelligence quotient. Suppose you have amazing intelligence and knowledge but you don't know how to represent yourself, how to talk to others, you have no values for emotions then no one prefers to work with you. On the other side, if you are socially good, you respect others feelings, you don't think from your brain always but you don't have knowledge means you know how to represent yourself but indeed you have nothing good to represent then how can you earn your livelihood.

So, in my perception both are important.

EQ and IQ both are important at there places. A person with high IQ and without EQ can't able to handle the difference between their professional and personal life. But for me EQ is more important because the person with EQ can handle toughest situation in their life. If we take the example of housewife or our mother she takes decision from her heart if she also started using her Brain so there will never be Peace in home. For maintaining peace in home many times she ignore people behavior. So EQ is more important.

EQ and IQ both are important. Both play a very important in our life. And hence both should be balanced. But if you want me to choose one. I would prefer EQ over IQ. Because if a person doesn't know how to manage and control his emotions and feelings then what's the use of his intelligence? Ok if I have IQ and no EQ then what's the difference between me and a machine. We are human beings. We are emotional beings. This is what makes us different and unique. Therefore our EQ is more important than IQ. EQ is not only important in your personal life but also in your professional life too.

Man is the most unpredictable of all resources. So reading the thought process of someone else and acting according to it is the toughest job. That is the reason why top level human resource managers are paid the highest salaries.

So, if you can understand the thought process of a person and manipulate/ influence him to work according to your needs, you will be at the top in no time. That is one of the most important qualities of any person.

Having a good IQ is great but always remember that a person with good IQ works under a person with good EQ.

In my point of view, IQ is the base for EQ. A person with better IQ Can understand every situation easily such that they can handle those situations emotionally.

So a person need a better IQ than EQ. Such that he or she can handle her or his situation in their presence of mind. Nothing goes away from their hand. Everything will be in their control.

As a matter of fact, both are equally important.

But a person who is emotionally balanced is comparatively more capable in handling odds coming in his life than one with higher academics intelligence. EQ comes by experience and not by reading books. People with higher EQ cannot be fooled by others but I doubt higher IQ with lower EQ can be emotional victims.

So, when it comes to preference, I would go for more EQ.

Both IQ and EQ are important. If someone has both IQ and EQ good, he will be very smart. If one has low EQ, may be we call them as introvert. And they cannot be a good leader. They can't understand other people, and other people can;t understand them, simply society won't like them. But if they has good IQ, they will be good at whatever they work. So if I get a chance to hire, I don't mind hiring introverts some time, if they are good at work. Simply they live different kind of lives.

But you should note that it's not possible to change our IQ or EQ suddenly. We all are different, we all are unique. We should be happy with what we are. At the same time, we should try to improve both IQ and EQ. And also the education should improve both of these.

Hi everyone.

EQ:
I explain my point. They emotionally solve and is himself a leader. So he or she has his or her own ideas. He or she has the power to control his feelings, expressions and thoughts.

IQ:
They are not able to solve any problems himself. From childhood to up to now they have Standard wise solve the different exams that's why their mind is set accordingly. So they can not face with the new situation.
