EQ and IQ are kinds of intelligence, former being emotional quotient and later being intellectual quotient. Both weigh equally in the real world but the nature of the task which we are taking up decides which has the upper hand.
If it's a managerial job which deals with people, EQ becomes slightly more important than IQ.
On the other hand, IQ plays a greater role in research (scientific) oriented task.
But in general, IQ determines the way you attack the problem and how you use your previous experience and knowledge for finding the solution.
EQ determines how well you manage the process and carry it forward until you find the optimal solution. It mostly deals with the balancing our emotions and keeping it stable internally as well as externally.

Both IQ and EQ are important. If someone has both IQ and EQ good, he will be very smart. If one has low EQ, may be we call them as introvert. And they cannot be a good leader. They can't understand other people, and other people can;t understand them, simply society won't like them. But if they has good IQ, they will be good at whatever they work. So if I get a chance to hire, I don't mind hiring introverts some time, if they are good at work. Simply they live different kind of lives.
But you should note that it's not possible to change our IQ or EQ suddenly. We all are different, we all are unique. We should be happy with what we are. At the same time, we should try to improve both IQ and EQ. And also the education should improve both of these.

IQ is what a person makes eccentrically smarter and cut above the rest, but EQ is what makes a person more socially acceptable with a peaceful life hence a successful person in his/her own field.
Suppose in a team, a person having high IQ always bosses around the other fellow teammates and deliberately trying to prove that he/she is the one who should be the smartest, then it is quite visible that the person has low EQ, which eventually makes him/her irritating and intolerable among the teammates and may even lead to failure or socially isolated. Well, he is somewhat like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, if you guys have watched the series you would know it!
In my opinion reasonable IQ and more EQ leads a person to the pinnacle of success.

Emotional quotient is all about control our emotion where ever there is a need, whether in the job, towards employee, parents or any older people. It acts like "The first impression is the last impression". We must have the ability to listen the thought and perception that delivers by an adult because they have lots of experience as they have already gone through our ages. So it's our responsibilities to go through the decisions taken by our parents or any adult. The same is applicable in job sector also. Don't over react. Our parents aim is to give us a good platform and it's our will to move forward to an extreme level which depends on our IQ level, how skilled we are, our performance in professional areas. STRONG EQ LEADS TO STRONG IQ.

This world is a slave to leaders, we neither require managers (boss) nor the brain of Einstein. There is a little difference between the leader and a manager, the manager is a person chosen for his IQ by people above him but a leader is a person chosen for his EQ by the people below him.
A person with good IQ may lead him/her to a very reputed MNC, but they may be socially isolated if they have low EQ.
In real life always your healthy relationship with your subordinates, friends, family, and strangers will take you to a successful life.
I am not saying IQ is not important, but EQ must always predominate over IQ.
Its very well said, "give me a person with reasonable common sense and decency, I will make a leader out of him".

I am going to start this by putting a quote which says " IQ can get you a job but EQ will ensure that you will stay and improve there".
IQ stands for Intelligence quotient which includes the technical skills that the individual possess i.e. analytical skills, conceptual skills, reasoning skills etc.
EQ stands for Emotional quotient which includes the people skills, how you communicate, how you talk to the individuals, how's your personality, your attitude towards others, all these things comes under EQ.
For an individual to succeed in life, Balance of both EQ and IQ should be there, A person should be intelligent as well as emotionally strong in order to survive and to achieve the individual as well as organizational goals.

EQ and IQ both are important for a man to became successful in life. EQ decides our behaviour towards the situations we face. It is necessary to react accurately according to the situations. It decides our character and forms the basis of our image in the society. It helps to build reputation and impression in the society makes the life easier. On the other hand, IQ is equally important. Actually they are corelated. The success of a person directly depends on the two. IQ decides our intelligence capabilities. We use it in real life to take decisions, in solving the questions and in computations. It gives us the capability to come out from complicated situations.
A man is complete when he has a perfect combination of the two.

EQ means emotional quotient which shows how a person react if some situation occur on the other hand IQ means intelligent quotient which shows person's mathematical ability I think EQ and IQ both are important in person's lives suppose if we only have IQ we can perform well in exam only but can't take decision of normal life sensible which everyone has to take in their life and if we only have EQ we would become dull and dull person can't survive in this society because for survival whether we have to clear exam and do job or we have to do business where also some intelligence is required so I believe that every point of time in our lives we have to make balance between EQ and IQ I believe both are equally important.

Life is all about balance. The batter you make balance the happier your life will be. EQ and IQ both are the wheels of life anyone of them can't be removed. EQ means emotional quotient and IQ stands for Intelligence quotient. Suppose you have amazing intelligence and knowledge but you don't know how to represent yourself, how to talk to others, you have no values for emotions then no one prefers to work with you. On the other side, if you are socially good, you respect others feelings, you don't think from your brain always but you don't have knowledge means you know how to represent yourself but indeed you have nothing good to represent then how can you earn your livelihood.
So, in my perception both are important.
So, in my perception both are important.

Hello,
Both EQ (Emotional Quotient) and IQ (Intelligence Quotient) are important in our life. EQ is the ability to understand, manage your own emotions in a positive way to relieve stress and communicate efficiently and emphasize with others and overcome challenges and defuse conflict. It also can Manage relationship with other people.
And IQ (intelligence quotient) is the ability to manage your technical knowledge, ideas and thoughts.
You need to have a brilliant IQ to be a gd engineer but to be a leader of engineer your EQ is more important rather than IQ.
It's difficult to go ahead with one. I think They are complementary to each other.
So both EQ & IQ is important for our successful life.
Thank you.
