"Emotional quotient is defined as an individual ability to identify, evaluate and express emotion".

People with high EQ usually make great leaders and team players because of their ability to understand, empathize and connect with the people around them.

IQ or Intelligence quotient is derived from one of several standardized tests designed to asses individual intelligence.

IQ is used to determine academics abilities and identify individuals with off the chart intelligence or mental challenges. EQ is a better indicator of success in the workplace and is used to identify leaders' good team players and people who work by themselves.

In my opinion, a proper balance between IQ and EQ is the need of ours. Intelligence quotient is important for it helps to achieve his or her goals and apply their minds or intellects to get better at a job.

Thank you.

Well, I agree with my friend, Emotional intelligence or Emotional Quotient (EQ) is the ability to identify, assess, evaluate and control on emotions. If any person has this ability then definitely they are a good leader, good team Player, ability to deal with oneself emotions and others also. Today most of the companies want a person who has more EQ, because person have to work in a team.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ), is the score obtained by standardized testing to assess intelligence of individuals. The person who has high IQ can solve difficult problems easily, puzzles, mathematical questions and also they have very good reasoning ability.

In conclusion, I want to say that both the abilities in a person has own importance. If any person has lack of IQ and EQ level, both can be improved by good foods, meditation and by certain tests. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

Well, the topic is EQ or IQ, firstly, we should be clear about the topic, EQ stands for emotional quotient, know and control your emotions, and know others' too while IQ stands for intelligence quotient, passing a series of standard tests and all to check how intelligent you are, how vigilantly you use your skill.

So, the preference would depend upon the nature of work, if the work requires a team which wants a leader to take his team to achieve success then EQ is needed while if the work is on the individual basis then go for IQ.

And we can also say that both the factors go hand in hand, these are wheels to lead a successful and contentful life, one will control your heart and other will your brain. It is rightly said that no decision can be taken by your brain only.

So, both are equally important to live satisfactorily.

According to me, to be successful both EQ and IQ are equally important. Depending on the situation we should use our EQ and IQ. For eg- in business when we are taking decisions we should use our IQ, but when we are meeting our partners then we should use our EQ to maintain cordial relations with them. Without EQ we cannot understand ourselves and others also, we cannot maintain friendly relations, we cannot share our thoughts and knowledge with others i.e. a person without EQ is one who is isolated, who is not self-confident, who is not self-aware and who is not happy. Without IQ, we cannot think logically, practically and accurately. IQ is needed for making accurate decisions quickly. IQ helps us to think whether we have made correct decision or not based on our EQ. Thus EQ makes us become socialized and IQ makes us become smart.

Hi friends,

First of all, I appreaciate what you all guys thought, somehow I agree with your perceptions. I Want to add my view about IQand EQ. IQ (intelligence quotient) is very important to compete with today's world as it is a rational and logical approach. Today the scenerio is different there is a vast range of technology and business in which only logical thinking is not enough for survival you must be social and philantropic (love for mankind). EQ (emotional quotient) is also very important in its own percpective. If you are a successful person (having a good/high IQ) but a low EQ then you are not a successful person, you are lacking somewhere so there must be a balance between IQ and EQ which distinguish you from others. Be gregarious as EQ leads to life's knowledge not bookish knowledge.

The Mind is a very wonderful gift given by almighty. The mind is divided into two hemispheres. One portion of a mind which is the right one represents the person's emotions, feelings, loving nature, ability in the field of art, painting, sculpture, dancing, music etc things relevant to EQ terms but another portion of mind represents person's logical and scientific, Intelligence nature relevant to IQ terms. So we have to work on both. We have to maintain a balance between them. Without EQ or less EQ lead life to a drastic situation such as sometimes that person become more alcoholic or smoker or sometimes that person put his life into danger because that person can not face life as it is. While Without IQ or less IQ a person can live not a better life but definitely a sustainable life.

I think that yes, IQ and EQ depend on the situation and the work the person is doing. There is no doubt that if a person has both, it is like a gold plate on the gold itself. But in terms of when the person is doing problem-solving work, they need more of the IQ.

If a person wants to understand the question and the opinion of the other person, it’s important to have EQ. I think that if a person does the work of management and relationship building in a firm, they will need more EQ, whereas a person who does more technical backend work will need more IQ.

But for a person to really be happy and succeed in their career, I think they need both.

So, try to improve them and also try to be a little more conscious while listening to others, and improve these abilities of yours for sure.

IQ or Intelligence Quotient is a must to survive in the modern tech-driven world. A high IQ score is welcome on any person's test score. Any employer would want a person with a reasonably high IQ. Life can throw many situations at us continuously, be it at work or home.

A high IQ, with a touch of common sense, helps us sort through the mess around, prioritize, organize, anticipate and respond as needed.

However, we as human beings have an emotional component. The EQ or emotional Quotient brings in the softer side of the person in play. It makes a person more human, more approachable and friendly. Having an empathetic partner at work or home makes life more pleasant. EQ allows us to play outside the rules, yet stay ethical, if need be.

So, YES, We need both IQ and EQ.

According to me, in today’s world, success is often attributed to intelligence and emotional awareness. While IQ (Intelligence Quotient) measures logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills, EQ (Emotional Quotient) determines how well a person understands emotions, builds relationships, and handles social situations.

Strong Analytical Skills, Academic and Professional Success, and learning Ability is achieved by IQ whereas, Better Leadership and Teamwork, Handling Stress and Pressure, and Stronger Personal and Professional Relationships are achieved by EQ.

Neither IQ nor EQ alone guarantees success. A combination of both helps individuals excel in their careers and personal lives. While IQ might get you a job, EQ will help you grow and sustain it.

EQ or Emotional Quotient is defined as an individual's ability to identify, evaluate, control and express emotions. People with high EQ usually make great leaders and team players because of their ability to understand, empathize and connect with people around them.

IQ or Intelligence Quotient determines one's academic abilities and is determined by several standardized tests to assess an individual's intelligence. People with high IQ gain success in challenging task and has the ability to analyze how to approach towards a goal.

So, both EQ and IQ is necessary for a successful person. A person with high IQ and low EQ can innovate but will not be able to manage different people around him and vice-versa. Thus, there should be a balance between EQ and IQ.
