I think both EQ and IQ are quintessential in our life. IQ makes a man think logically. EQ makes him to think according to his emotions. Both EQ and IQ must be balanced in life. One must take decisions logically by considering the emotions of the people.

Both emotional quotient (EQ) and intelligence quotient (IQ) is indispensable for developing the overall personality of an individual. But EQ has a little edge over IQ because IQ is dependent on EQ. No individual can take rational decisions without emotional stability no matter how much intelligence he/she possesses.

Both IQ and EQ are complementary to each other. A person having good IQ thinks logically and is not affected by other peoples emotions. IQ is cognition and EQ is affection. A person with good EQ thinks emotionally. A person having high IQ will not consider others interests and sentiments. This may lead to problems in group activity whereas a person with high EQ might be easily influenced by emotions and may not focus on work. So a balance of both is desirable but this happens hardly. A little of high EQ is good according to me.

I think both IQ and EQ are quintessential for our personality. Higher IQ enables us to think more logically and Scientifically while higher EQ enables us more empathetic and helps us to read other's mind.
It's a common perception that higher IQ tends to lower sympathy to others but this is a myth. A person may have both the higher IQ as well as higher EQ subsequently. For eg. , Einstein was terrified about the human loss when US dropped nuclear weapon in Japan.

I think both EQ and IQ have their own importance and people having a perfect balance of both is usually rare. But I think it is this disbalance that makes us different from others. People with very high IQ may tend to think always logically but their decisions may lack emotions. High EQ people may be good at understanding others feelings but at times may be driven away by emotions which is not always the right thing to do.
So I think a disbalance up to a certain extent is normal but it should not be large.

Hello guys! What differentiate can be b/w two is when and where Eq is required and where Iq is required. Socially you need to be adaptive action of people in why that way is the Eq but that action is remain suitable or not is Iq. It's just like to give rewards or punishment as boss and also to get promotion or demotion as employee in professional life. In personal life to lead family Iq helps but eq saves the relationship.

IQ is what a person makes eccentrically smarter and cut above the rest, but EQ is what makes a person more socially acceptable with a peaceful life hence a successful person in his/her own field.
Suppose in a team, a person having high IQ always bosses around the other fellow teammates and deliberately trying to prove that he/she is the one who should be the smartest, then it is quite visible that the person has low EQ, which eventually makes him/her irritating and intolerable among the teammates and may even lead to failure or socially isolated. Well, he is somewhat like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, if you guys have watched the series you would know it!
In my opinion reasonable IQ and more EQ leads a person to the pinnacle of success.

Hi guys, first of all I would like to tell the definition of EQ& IQ. EQ means emotional quotient and IQ means intelligence quotient.
EQ mainly tells about emotions of a person and IQ tells about the intelligence of a person.
Everyone should have balanced IQ &EQ to lead.
Successful life. If one has high IQ and low EQ he will be happy up to certain time only because gradually he will be rejected by society because of his lack of emotions. If he has high EQ and low IQ he will automatically get IQ because of his emotions towards society. To be intelligent and emotion one should have to take care of both qualities. Then only we will be in others mouth.

Hello, guys,
First of all, I would like to define what is EQ and IQ. Basically, EQ (Emotional Quotient) is the measure of your emotional skills i.e. how you control your emotions whereas IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is the measure of your intelligence i.e.how intellect you are.
Now talking about their importance, I think both are equally important. For getting success in life you need a great IQ whereas for holding that success, you need a strong EQ. High IQ can get you a good job but low EQ can get you fired. High EQ and low IQ is such that you can't even get a job.
But researchers have shown that IQ contributes only 20% to your overall success. High EQ will help in maintaining good social relations with friends, family, and colleagues and will surely boost your mental level. It is also found that low EQ person no matter how intelligent he is often suicides.
A person having less IQ but comparatively more EQ than a person with high intellectual level will often be more successful in life. So there is need to maintain a balance between these two to be a successful and respectful member of the society.

Hey everyone.
First we need to understand that EQ (emotional quotient) is about feelings. It shows how a person can deal with his/her emotions. While I (intelligence quotient) is about brain. It shows your intelligence, knowledge and how good you are with your academics.
I believe that in this competitive world one should have higher EQ because competition is getting tougher day by day and many are committing suicide because they are not mentally and emotionally strong to handle such situation.
No matter how intelligent a person is, if he not mentally and emotionally strong. It will be difficult to get success in longer run.
