In my point of view, smart cities are needs but not a necessity. First, we want to solve our basic problems which are related to food, shelter, clothes, education, unemployment. When we solve it. It is easy to become the smart city.
Smart cities mean all facilities will be provided in that city. But in present we want to focus on the decrease priority ratio, increase education level which helps us to make our cities smart. When citizens become smart then cities also become smart. There is no need to do special to convert cities into smart cities. All citizens change their view of thinking then our cities start to.
Convert to smart cities.
Hence, I finally conclude that in present no need for smart cities. First, we want to solve basic problems.

Hello everyone,
If we need to make India great and develop nation we need to work on the root of problems face by us.
According to me instead of working on a surface level, we need to find the root of the problem and smart cities are not a root of the problem. It's just wasting of huge money on a very small part which will never lead us.
But if we focus on the root of problems like if government provide employment to needy people, try to develop undeveloped rural areas, try to sort out problems of farmers who are the backbone of our country then India will definitely grow up. So final conclusion is we need to work on roots of the problem instead of surface level problems like making smart cities.
Thank you guys.

I don't think we need a smart city because Our country is just a developing country not developed. As we know in our country. Many civilised people's are dependent on agricultural and we know where their position is. Not only in agriculture I think many classes they can not get just their requirements. 1st of all government should have to concern about them and try to remove their problems. Because the country will not on the path of success until those backward people will not be developed.
I conclude my point by saying. Only by making smart city our country will not be a developed country.

Yes, India is in need of smart cities because India is still a developing country.
If smart cities are developed then there will be development in economy, technology, infrastructure, the standard of living and most importantly unemployment gets reduced. If a city is sanctioned as a smart city, the govt will develop it as a technology hub, social hub and digital hub, by providing many facilities like modern schools, highly equipped hospitals, good transport facilities, improved water and electricity supply, reduction in pollution (clean and green traffic), many more digital facilities. Mainly the security system provided for the city will also be developed.
Before making a city as a smart city, first the people should be made aware of the computer technology and duties of a decent and hygiene citizen.
Ultimately it is the responsibility of the people to realise that a smart city is a boon for them by the govt and should keep it as a hygiene smart city. The people should get motivated and should mould themselves to become a decent, smart and hygiene citizen of a smart city.
Thus, if the govt and people work towards these smart cities, then surely we can see India in the race of developed countries.

Hello Everyone,
Smart cities mean those whose cities having the excellent facilities like educational, healthcare facilities, technology. In my point of view, India will really need the smart cities and also this is the right time to think about it. I want to add one thing before going to the topic.
In India, 60-70% of the people are living in rural areas and only 30-40% of the people are living in towns/cities. In rural areas, the people are always fighting to fulfil there common needs like higher education, health facilities. Etc. First of all, Governments will focus on rural areas to facilitate the basic needs to the peoples living in the rural areas.
And also, correspondingly focus on the development of the smart cities. Otherwise, our country is always in the "developing countries" list instead of developing countries. My grandfather said, "India is a developing country" to my father, my father said same to me and I will say the same to my children as well.
So, My point of you sustainable developing is needed.

First, we should focus on the basic needs of the society. In our country, farmers are dying because they can't pay the debt, children are suffering from malnutrition, in many cities, people don't have the adequate supply of drinking water, the condition of Indian railways is too pathetic for travelling in general class etc.
So instead of focusing on smart city government should focus on the clean and green city where people have access to basic amenities, education, drinking water security for the girls etc. Finally, people should also be smart so that they do not throw garbage here and there and government should focus on smart village instead of the smart city.

Yes, we really need smart cities because we are in a technological era and we should match our feet with new technologies. But in my point of view, for smart cities smart education and smart facilities are not enough but the people having smart mindset is also entail for this. According to me, the definition of smart cities is the people having smart mindset. In India, people still have stone age mindset and they don't want to change it. There are two face of India like on one side we see there is a dynamic development in a technological field and on the second side we see horrible things of India like rape cases, murder etc due to backward and creep type of mindset of Indian people and just because of this horrible things India is still a" DEVELOPING COUNTRY " after so many years. I believe that education plays a very curious role in setting the mindset of people and as we all patently know the present scenario of our "INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM". So, government should first think to change our education system then to think about smart cities because illiteracy rate of India is still very high so, how government can think about the smart cities by knowing that that half of the population in India are uneducated. Government should amend their protocols and made a strict law for education compulsion for each and every kid of India whether they are poor or rich because "more educated people, more smart cities we have in future". If we really need smart cities, the people who have orthodox mindset should change their mindset according to new generation, should try to learn new technologies, implement in their daily life and motivate other people also. Indian people should cooperate with the government in their good moves like swatch Bharat Abhiyan, skillful India and many things which lead to making India a smart country in future.

Hello, everyone, the question is do we need smart cities?
A Few days ago we read the news about Tejas Express being damaged, headphones were stolen etc. So, the real question is India ready to adapt to the smart environment? At first, the mentality of the people should change, even if we create smart cities, the properties will be damaged and crores of rupees spent to make smart cities will be of no use. So, basic manners should be taught first in each and every school in the country, regarding sanitation, use of dustbin, not spitting etc So, that at least 10 to 15 years down the line our country will become a smart country.

Hey everyone.
I'm Jitender As the topic is Do we really need smart cities, yes ofcourse we need. What smart cites means? It basically means that maintained sewage system, cleanliness on roads, proper railways system and well mannered safety system As we all are live in urban areas but more than 50-60% peoples who live in rural areas where there is a lack of employment, no proper electricity, no water system.
If we really want smart cities, first of all improve the condition of rural peoples, provide 24*7 electricity, water make proper roads and turn villages into cities by providing proper education, and create awareness among the youth.
At last I would like to say that we surely need smart cities, as India is a developing country and from day to day life our economy increases and technology also improves which has a great achievement of our country.
Thank you.

Hello, Everyone!
Bring the second most populous country on earth and an aspiring super power, India needs its cities to be Smart more than ever before. Not only Smart cities but India needs to focus on the concept of Smart villages as well as what I will call as 'Smart Districts'. Because it's important to reduce the migration from villages to cities to allow cities to grow without burdening their infrastructure and at the same time, preserving the village culture of India.
A Smart city, or I would say a Smart District should be a district with best education system focusing on moral as well as regular academics, a proper Healthcare system, round the clock easily accessible transport system, water harvesting mechanism, proper drainage system, sufficient civic area dedicated to recreational activities to name a few of the must have facilities. At the same time, proper roads and separate grievance redressal mechanisms in city and villages falling under jurisdiction should be there. There should be knowledge exchange via seminars, cultural fairs etc between people of city and villages. Cities and villages both are drivers of Indian economy and neglecting any one of them would derail the economy. Hence it's the need of the hour to focus on Smart cities, Smart villages and Smart districts with aim of promoting sustainable development and better livelihood to the people.
