I would like to start discussing this topic with an example. Suppose you visited a recently built government infrastructure which is equipped with modern technologies and facilities. At the first instant, you'll feel very contented thinking that our country is moving very fastly towards development (although I personally believe that it is actually happening when I read about our contributions in space missions etc) but if you revisit that place after two months you will see beautiful graffiti of pan Parag or pan masala on the walls. And the modernized equipment that made you feel proud earlier may be placed deadly now. Also if you move outside the washrooms you can venture to smell that pleasant odor coming out. So what I mean to say is that we really need smart cities for the betterment of our country and people but first what we need is to make our thinking smart. Before dreaming of living in smart cities, every individual of our country needs to change their mindset. We have to spread awareness for education, rules, and regulations, how to utilize our resources like water and electricity efficiently. And when we become successful in this, I think 50 % of the smart city agenda is done.

Hello every one.

Imagining about smart cities in India is fare enough but before that we need to see whether the public who are going to live in smart cities are smart enough or not like we see on our daily basis that some people are there who don't care about the environtments and split shits like pan and etc here and there, so before smart cities we need to make these people smart first.

Smart city concept in India is invalid. Instead, we should focus on basic amenities, infrastructures, and fair transparent government services.

Although all the criteria's mentioned above are taken consideration by gov. Smart city mission. Look smart city is the vision of government. In India, all policies and vision struck in the implementation policies. So whatever govt has said about smart cities, let's accept that, because at least from gov. Side cities are getting importance.

If the mission name could be in the Indian language, the debate over a smart city would be very less. Then it would be seen as a separate concept. Our prime concern is to improve the quality of city life. But we are struck by the concept of the smart city. The name does not matter. What are the features matter.

The general image of the smart city in India is now somewhat exclusionary. What about the job of ews and lig section, where will be they accommodated, after five years will gov continue the 100 crore fund each year.

The good part of the story is technology is going to be used for quicker and fair solutions, the hardest part of Indian administrative system. Even the birth certificate can be downloaded from your home, you don't need to wait for the clerk in dilapidated gov. offices.

Yes, we are in need of smart cities. Where in most of the countries like Japan, Singapore, Australia in these countries small states are also well developed. So we need to develop our villages as smart cities.

Hello, Everyone.

When we heard words "smart cities" we start imagining those cities with good infrastructure and full of facilities, neat and clean and good environment. But these all cannot be implemented completely until we people of developing country start thinking and living in a smart way.

This is because, if the government make something say put a dustbin along the road side, some people who are educated in real-manner only put the garbage into that box. But most of the population of the country are not that much educated or mannered that they put all garbage in dustbin only, they will throw it here and there and hence make the city polluted. And also after some someone either breaks the dustbin or take it away.

So we can conclude that before government implement the concept of smart cities in our country, it is necessary to make people of India smart by education, organising campaign awareness program etc. Hence once we become smart then almost 50% concept of smart city will get implemented.

Of course, We really need smart cities.

In my opinion, As far we listening that INDIA is still a developing country. But why is it not yet developed?

SMART CITIES can be made when we think smart in every aspect of developing of our country & needs of people. It should be initialised from villages.

By the way, our great country can be a developed country.

I hope so it may be a developed country till completion of this 21st century. If people & the government of India thinks smart enough. Then it would be a smart city with facilities we needed according to the improvement of technology day by day.

Thank you.

Hello, everyone.

Yes, we need smart cities and the decision taken by Indian government for smart cities is correct because when people hear about smart word before the name of his/her city where they are living they already started to imagine how our city looks being a smart city and they stopped doing all bad things such as throwing rotten eggs, vegetables, dust on road they will throw in dustbin and if one people started then the other also start.

If I talk about the smart city, initially people should be aware for the cleaning of the city like don't throw garbage on the road, use public toilets etc. First, step would be built public toilets in villages and place where development is necessary. If people will be aware from this all thing, 50% city will be changed into the smart city.

I think we need a smart city. Because we of today are switching towards modernity and it provides us many essential requirements. If we have to maintain smart city then we should aware that we have to keep our sanity clean and free from pollution, diseases etc. It is also a necessary factor.
