Democracy is a system of government in which we can choose our government A/c to our choice that didn't occur in monarchy system. Democratic got selected by the people for the people and always remain with the people.

We have the example of South Africa where democracy help in the abolition of discrimination between black and white by Nelson Mandela.

How can we say that the democracy is hampering the INDIA's progress?

Actually, the main reason behind the hampering of progress is illiteracy, poverty, gender inequalities, lack of patriotic culture etc. Here we choose our govt on the basis of caste, religion and party system. Most of the seats here are reserved for the quotas like SC, ST.

So, I think we should change our mentality and perception towards our country, our govt then only our country can progress.

Yes, democracy is hampering India's progress because today's education systerm has changed towards greed, therefore we have forgotten the rule of- by the people- for the people -with the people, if we survey we'll find that a minister 's family member is often chosen as minister, today votes are being purchased by criminals, law is being misused by moneyed people, poor are becoming poorer, religious people are also becoming criminals, nowadays, the priests and nuns think themselves to be LORDS, Just like the Ministers think themselves and lives a life like a KING, when people of their country are dying of poverty they are least bothered.

Yes, democracy is hampering progress not because of the word democracy but because some people are taking undue advantage of the name democracy, as nepotism is being into force, roads, footpaths drains cannot be maintained and all are being sold to the hackers just for the party people to make money, and causing undue trouble to the common people when they are paying tax for the maintaining their city/state.

Hi, friends. In my view, democracy is not hampering India's progress it is cause of system problem. So actually we have to need some changes in our system. Everything have some plus point then also have negative point s so we can't blame democracy only for hampering India's progress it is the cause of illiteracy, corruption, etc.

Well, I think somehow democracy is ruining our system. I am not saying that it's totally wrong but nowadays the people who are connected with a party use party's name to do illegal things. Whether it is in the field of education or in the field of illegal works. And day by day these things are increasing. So as a democratic country, the government should take care of these things 1st. Then only we can support democracy.

Hello everyone,

In my point of view, democracy is right to choose the right person for the society to dovelopment but if some time we face any kind ok problem in which we blame democracy is just because of illatrcy because we the poeple of India don't want to choose the right person of ourself because we always run before cast religionmany time I have seen that we know that person is wrong he will not do any kind of devolopment but we sitlli ssupport just because the person is of my cast my religion we know that the person is criminal he will just want to get the power to do anything we still suppport him so I don't thing that the way is wrong we are wrong we should be aware for our politician nd should choose the right one because we are seeing that the gvt officers are being currupt for thier own benefit. And the family member or the people who are connected to this kind of politician are more powerful than politician just because of them so we should choose the right person.

No, democracy is not hampering India's progress. Democracy is a system of government in which citizens exercise power directly to elect representative among themselves. The need to change is management, politics and workplace a democratic system in which everyone will be treated equally and be allowed to make their decision.
