Citizens as well as government is equally responsible for the cleanliness of our country. Instead of blaming each other a strategy is needed to overcome this situation. If government takes a firm decision to put waste bins on every 1 km on the sidewalks and fines are given to citizens who doesn't put waste materials in the bins, the prevalent system will surely change. But it is also important that these wastes in the waste bins should be collected by municipality and dumped into the landfills or incenerated. People will have no choice other than keeping city clean.

Completely agree that its the fundamental responsibility of citizen to maintain cleanliness but its not about only Indian citizen, yeah off course Indian citizens need to be more cautious about this but it should be responsibility of every human kind because most of the diseases spread due to unhygienic atmosphere we live in and and to be safe from this disease we should take some initiatives and must take responsibility. Like nowadays swine flu has destroyed lives of many families, peoples died due to this so, its the responsibility of every human kind. Thank you.

My personal view is, the first step is to stop the use of plastic every individual should carry a cloth or eco-friendly bag while going out especially shopping purpose. I just want some small things from govt that is they should instruct companies to use eco-friendly packing material most of the product which available in the market use plastic material, such as rice bags, soap, biscuits, and some groceries bags. Even they should instruct beverages companies to take the beer bottles in return they should give a discount on new purchases after giving empty bottles.

Cleanliness is the most important and moral duty of all citizen cleanliness is next to foodline.
This cleanliness was started by our P.M.Narendra Modi they said this cleanliness in the form of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan which is started on the path of mahatma Gandi.
This Swatch Bharat Abhiyan was started on 2nd October 2014 and are prime minister Narendra Modi said that this will end on 150 birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
I would likely to say please clean own street don't clean public places if every person cleans his surrounding it is very sufficient.
Thank you!

Today and from many years we have been talking about cleanliness, but are we doing it?
It is just in papers not in action. Will these really help us. You will be thinking that why I am so negative but the thing is that I had to be after seeing the things. It is worthless of making or creating such movements because our Indian attitude will never change even after the Swach Bharat movement taken on SECOND of October people who collect the garbage found a lot of garbage where this movement took place. Now it is impossible but lets wait for the future.

Hello friends,
I am Chandni from Uttrakhand. Actually I want to ask a question from you people that if you can't keep your home clean than how can you keep your environment and surrounding clean? I am strongly against of this as people normally say that they respect nature but at last what they do, they themselves illegally throw garbage in front of neighbor's house.
We cannot say that govt is not cooperative to the people as they provide us many dustbins, and also organised some organisations, it depends upon our use of it.
Thank you.

Hello Guys,
Just a few CAN and SHOULD do's for fellow compatriots:
1. Just keep the wrappers/bottles during travelling/driving/walking in your pockets or bags instead of throwing it wildly in public places and later use dustbins.
2. Use only public washrooms to take a piss or wait till you reach a suitable place. (even when you're shit drunk).
3. Never spit in public places. (because it's super gross).
Do these three steps, that's pretty much all we need to do to help maintain cleanliness from our sides!
Long Live India!
JAI HIND!

Hi, I am Avinash Kalkekar.
Many people are just concerned about their rights and forget about their duties. Recent swatch Bharat mission was an attempt to make us all recall the value of cleanliness. Not only will cleanliness help in keeping us healthy but it will help in beautifying our cities and country thus attracting, even more, tourist, eventually earning greater foreign exchange for our nation. So, cleanliness is most important for everyone. That's why we have supposed to keep clean our surrounding area. Becaz if we ignore this.

It is big challenge for all the citizens of India. It is only possible if each and every person living in India would understand this campaign their own responsibility and try to meet hands together to MIF we have a right to eat chips ice cream etc anywhere on the road, its our duty to dispose the wrappers and household waste properly thereafter and even educate each and every person in our surrounding to abide by it clean areas are always a delight to live at take a look at any foreign country be it USA, UK or Dubai.
