Can we dream of hosting the Olympics?

Hi guys,

There's nothing wrong in dreaming of hosting the Olympics, but we also need to consider other factors like the money the government.

Need to spend on infrastructure.

As of now, around 64 million people in India live in slums, millions of people live on the road side footpaths, the money could be spent on building infrastructure for these people.

What I want to say is India already is struggling with poverty so it's unnecessary to spend millions of dollars for an event just to show status.

Hello, friends.

I would start with nothing can be achieved without first dreaming about it. So we can and we should dream about hosting Olympics.

When we hosted Commonwealth Games in 2010 the performance of Indian players was very good. The Number of medals was unprecedented.

It motivates people.

It brings sports culture.

We all can agree the sports infrastructure is very needed as we can see out recent performance in Olympics.

The hosting would be a great boost to infrastructure. And participation would definitely improve.

Plus one point we are not considering is that it brings huge employment to people where sports are hosted. Tourism is improved. These two are very crucial to the current economy of India.

Yes, we believe that there are some issues like the lack of funds as some of my friends have mentioned but the benefits are high as well. We can afford one-time payment and this would contribute to revenues as well in long run.

No India is not ready to host Olympics. It is because presently India can't eradicate poverty and unable to provide basic needs of peoples. Peoples in the lower sector are still fighting to meet their lives. Indians are nothing in the Olympic history when compared to other small countries like Jamaica, Ethiopia, Etc. First of all, we have to provide proper facilities to our peoples and improve their life standard then only a healthy atmosphere arise in our country. Then we can achieve so many things from the sports Field. Only by developing from grassroots level we can achieve success.

Yes! We can dream of hosting Olympics in India. Because India is the 4th largest economy and it will be the biggest boost for our Indian athletes who often complain about poor sports infrastructure. But the major issue is the money being spent on building those infrastructures let's take the example of Greece and Beijing Olympics, the sports infrastructure just lies unused or underused. Secondly, corruption cases during Commonwealth games which is still going on whereas the convicts are roaming freely. If we overcome these issues then the career in sports becomes dependable and our parents don't push everyone into Engineering or medical. And India becomes no.1 country in Olympics. It's not like India can't win a medal it's the atmosphere created by our previous generations that only studies can define a person.

Yes, we can host. We have already hosted Commonwealth game that time some mistake had happened due to corruption these mistakes if we can improve we have all the infrastructure and facilities to host Olympic.

After all we are also human beings, we also have some dreams for our country. Every Indian would like to see Olympics being hosted by India in future. But there are a few draw backs why it's not being held. One of the primary and main reasons for which it's not being held is that it's for Corruption, Black Money, Bribe and Politics. The second reason is that Sports in India. Atleast, 75% Indian parents and teachers concentrate and force their children for their education only. They don't give important for sports at all. And even if they did also, the sports selectors will only allow candidates to perform who have given Bribe to them. The money which comes from the government to the authority for upgrading the stadiums, courts, grounds and for the infrastructure purpose goes into their own pockets for their house hold purposes. This is only called corruption. That is the only reason why India cannot get medals like U.S.A or China in the Olympics being world's 2nd populated country. But still, it's not too late. If the corruption and bribe stop trust me India will come first in Olympic Games.

In my opinion, hosting any sport event in a country is helpful for that country to create a momentum regarding creating awareness and building an army of sportsman playing that sport. Olympics being Mecca of all sports event should be or can be dreamed of being taking place in India in near future but past experinces create an obstacle to further bid for such events.

HOSTING OLYMPICS.

Olympic being the mecca of all sporting event does bring a lot of Pride and honour to the nation it is being hosted.

Along with huge sports awareness, it also inculcates in the nation the confidence of rising up to such a big occasion. A well hosted Olympics leaves behind a legacy, a print in the minds of citizens and kids that last a very long time. It gives our player and sportsman an exposure that is very hard to get since they get an opportunity to interact with world champions and learn from them. But hosting Olympics is never easy, it involves a huge amount of money to host such an event. Money is generally spent in Creating Infrastructure, Creating world class Facilities, bringing sports Equipment, Advertisements, Making Deals with several sponsors, various companies, ranging from sports to sports. The host nation starts preparation from last 7-8years.

Our Nation has taken giant strides in perhaps every field of human endeavor, be it Space, be it defence, be it agriculture, be it innovation, or be it anything. We have proved our mettle. So there is no doubt that if properly planned, monitored, and meticulously proceeded, India can Just Host one of the most spectacular Olympics since its inception.

But my concern is, Is it really necessary?

We are a country which has largest poor, Largest BPL families, having millions who sleep on the road, millions who don't have access to basic rights like Education, Food, Shelter, Water, and Sanitation. Can we really afford to Host an Olympic leaving them to their pain and suffering?

In hosting an Olympics, a Nation does need to spent lakhs of Crores of Rs, Which can be and in my opinion should be diverted towards uplifting Poors, providing them health cares, Education, Food, Shelter, homes, Jobs, and much more. Our country is in a precarious situation where we are troubled by Terrorism emanating from neighbouring Nation, With whom we may need to go on the war at any instant. We are also troubled by Dragon China and its Hegemonic Stance in the region. We may need to bolster our defence capabilities, attacking and deterring Capabilities.

We are also far behind to many developed nations in terms of spending in our Research and Development. Think Govt may contemplate investing that amount in these Avenues. Overall My idea, is we are Ever ready to Host an Olympics but we should first become a Developed Nation and Provide basic Rights to the last man standing in the pyramid.

Yes, why can't we dream of hosting the Olympics, in my opinion, there is every possible way of hosting such a huge event. We all know India has hosted events like Cricket World Cup and Commonwealth Games, yes CWG was not very successful as many scams took place but this time it is Mr.Narendra Modi's Gov, the way he is working towards India making it corruption free & has promoted India globally so far reduces the chances of scams to null.

While talking of financial issues, apart from Gov, some of the India's leading companies like Tata, Reliance, Wipro can take initiative in terms of monetary funds for conducting such noble event.

On an average, 200 countries participate in Olympics which will augment the goodwill of our country globally. In the end, I like to conclude by saying INDIA is a country where many sports are appreciated and have enormous sports lovers, the great audience will boost for Indian Athletes so there will be a good chance of bringing more Gold Medals in the home.

No, we cannot dream of Olympics in India if Olympics in India there will be controversies in India so it is not possible to host Olympics in India because it requires a lot of money to conduct Olympics.
