Yes of course one can contribute to the society inspite of being in the corporate sector. A lot of corporates today have understood their responsibility toward the society and the stakeholders. companies today provide education n medical facilities to the under privilege eg. the TATA memorial hospital for cancer patients by the TATA group. They have also taken steps for pollution control by planting trees in the cities . Such measures should be taken up by more n more companies as it not only benefits the society but also brings goodwill to the organisation.

Being part of a corporate world we are used to things like:keep clients first, meeting deadlines, making profits, cost cutting etc and hence, it is belived that coorporate is all about profit maximization and nothing else.
But, if we look around, we will find so many examples which prove that even coorporates are invloving themselves in paying back to the socitey. ITC and p and g donates 1 re from each of their products for community welfare programmes, itc has come up with e choupals, tata is involved in providing various facilties to its employees in jamshedpur etc.
It may be argued that they just do it for their own benefit as it helps in building the trust of their customers. But, I beleive even if that be the reason, the society is getting benefited from such measures and hence, these should be encouraged.

Dear All,
According to me, the corporate world doesn't mean, the people working in Private Organizations, Corporate companies like MNCs. It means group of people working together for their individual growth and Contribution to the Social Sector doesn't mean simply donating our money, clothes, food. To poor, orphans, old., these are a part of social service.
The individual have to understand the need of society at that point of time and should take responsibility in fulfilling the requirement. Each and every individual should have some responsibility to the society irrespective of age, gender, income. Without expecting anything in return from society. How the individuals thinks of their basic needs and fulfill them in accordance with time. Likewise they have to think about the society and should do the needful within their capability.

Hello Friends,
Yes, I also agree with you all that one can contribute to the social sector while being employed in the Corporate World. The main thing is that there should be a thought regarding the contribution to the social sector. If one is not even thinking to contribute, then how can he or she contribute? But if one is thinking to do then yes there are a lot of opportunities to do so. In India, one employed person can do his or her job for minimum 8 hours daily. He or she still has 16 hours to do any social sector job such as to contribute to any poor society or any backwards community for uplifting their lifestyle. I can give myself as an example.
Now I am studying in Engineering college. There are classes, labs, assignments, tests and many more things to do in my college as a student. But on the other hand, I ma connected to an NGO ANKURIT started by our branch seniors. Under this, we have to go to a deaf and dumb Government school. We interact with those children. Occasionally we use to organise any drawing sort of competition among them so that there will be a competition for growing rapidly. I am doing this for 2 years and I can also manage to maintain my semester aggregate 8 CGPA.
So, Yes! one can contribute to the social sector while being employed in the Corporate World.
Thank You.

I very well agree with the statement that one can contribute to the social sector while being employed in the corporate sector. Working for the poor, helping them gives you inner satisfaction that yes we hav done something for them. Salmaan khan, sushmita sen and many more are working towards it. As said "charity begins from home", we first should help our maids by providing things that we don't use.

Yes, I would say that a person must contribute to the society as we all utilise the resources for our own benefit. The corporate people can contribute by paying if their taxes on time and paying them honestly providing funds to the society and to the non-profit organizations also.

I think yes its possible for one to contribute to the social sector while being employed in the corporate sector. Today there are so many sources (NGO) through which, any desirable person whether he is a private sector employee or public sector employee, must help poor and un-affordable person and children.
Today there are so many NGOs working towards social sector. So, by denoting money, our knowledge to that children who can't afford it, is possible. I think, the matter most is that one must have great devotion and dedication to work for social sector. That's the best way to contribute towards the development of our this very MOTHER INDIA.
Thank you.

Yes, I am totally agree with this that anyone from the Corporate society can contribute his/her bit towards the society in various ways. Like you can invest your time with the people who are less privileged, talk to them understand their problems and help them either financially or morally. The list of work with which you can contribute towards society are endless. You can create awareness in villages about various social issues, importance of education which leads them towards a successful and healthy life. More important, for doing this you don't have to take leave from work, you can accomplish those things on weekends as most of the corporate working days are for 5 days only.

Hii everyone,
I am totally against of this topic I don't think that the person belonging to the corporate world will have that to contribute to the social environment because nowadays the people belonging to the corporate world think that this silly thing are not their piece work thew only come to the place where they can get coverage and which will be beneficial.
To help the social environment you should have that much heart because when money comes nothing matters to them, the things going around the because for them its the waste of time. To help social environment means where your heart get connected not your money and mind.
