Yeah, earlier they were much conscious about quantity instead of quality, but now they are showing revolutionary changes in them, they got their senses improved, therefore; they got to know about the value of quality.

Hello friends.
As far as my opinion I don't think India is a not quality conscious its just like that Indians don't spend more on products which are not much affected by quality. As we Indians if want to purchase a car we spend much more on a good car that's why these Giant company are selling there car in India. And if we see all other products the scenario is like that only.
But if we have to spend on clothes we compromise with quality some times and that's not so bad as they are just clothes. And we don't forgot that India has a culture of saving that's why India has never face such recession as USA has also once face it.

Indians are intelligent. So in a country where intellectuality is high how people can be of less quality conscious or not aware of anything? why because Indians are very much capable of producing best quality goods and making those avail at less cost in the market to their consumers to their full satisfactory level. So they are both price as well as quality conscious.

According to me, Indians are less conscious because out of 100% of people, 60% of the people are below poverty line in India. As I want to say that the rural area's people are not quality conscious that doesn't mean all people are not conscious. In rural area people are having low economic condition so they can't buy quality goods. It is the fact that education of people directly proportional to quality of life. So quality consciousness directly depend on the economic condition of an individual person.

Its Sad to note that Still Indians are not quality conscious and just look into any products price band. And end up buying products of low quality especially food items. Today many Food products sold in the market are unhealthy using cheap variety ingredients and more chemicals. No one has realised to stop buying low quality products because today they are not affected and forget to note that its slow poison to health.
Today high-quality products are only exported and secondary quality products are sold in India to give the low price in India. Make the Change to Buy only Quality products so automatically low-quality products can be removed gradually.

Indians are not less quality conscious but due to lack of availability and affordability many Indians use inferior goods according to their income as they don't have much in their pocket to spend so they are indirectly purchasing inferior goods instead of knowing that it is inferior good. 99% of Indians are quality conscious can't say 100 because I didn't have a survey. But at last, my point is that Indians are quality conscious.

Hello, in view quality is a relative term with the budget of any individual or a group.
So what is best for the middle & lower class people may be just good for the upper class, and if you say that because most of the Indian population is poor they are less quality conscious than mot of the world population is poor or lower middle class so that would mean most population is less quality conscious.
It's accepted fact that much of the poor people are lured by the quantity rather than quality its because they are forced by their poverty, lack of facilities, the struggle for survival, unawareness etc.
Hence it would be least analytical to say that Indians are less quality conscious.

There are three types of people living in India.
Poor class, middle class, and higher class.
* According to poor class they want more quantity in lower budget. They don't depend on quality. In India there are Approx. 60% People who have quality conscious.
* Middle family look up their budget they also depend on the money they want quantity and quality according to their budgets.
* Higher family want more quality.

India is a country which is right on its steps to become a developed country i.e. it is still developing which means that every Indian isn't capable of making money with which he can buy high standard goods for him and his family. And obviously quality requires more money spent by investors and more money given by consumers. Therefore, at this stage, India isn't focus on quality.
