Are beauty contests degrading womanhood?

I would like to discuss about the topic beauty pageant.

Beauty pageant is a beauty contest where women show their talent all over the world.

But is has an advantage as well as some disadvantage like;

Advantages:

With beauty pageant women take the part in miss world and miss universe competition and women take care of her fitness and women will be self-dependent and they have a lot of experience in social work.

Disadvantages:

Many women spend lots of money in hairstyle and take medicine for their physical beauty and promote cosmetic surgery and with the influence of beauty pageants many young girl focus more on physical beauty instead of building life skill and career.

So, lastly, we can say that we cannot say beauty pageant is gold or bad it depends how we see the whole thing and we can also see that many people boycott the beauty pageant add some are big fans of Beauty pageant.

Like anything and everything in this universe, this also has its pros and cons. Beauty contests are a very good opportunity for women to mark their entrance in modeling career. It provides a sense of confidence and achievement to women.

But it also affects us even without us knowing. Right from childhood when we watch all these beauty pageant contests, it is being imprinted in our mind that a perfect woman is one who is tall, thin, beautiful and all. As we grow up this image of a perfect woman grows within us and we tend to be disappointed with ourselves.

That is the standards for a perfect woman have already been etched in our mind, which controls us to a great extent. We tend to forget that it is our imperfections that make us perfect. We all strive hard to become one of those standard beauties and are never satisfied with ourselves, leading to depression and other consequences.

This has actually been proved and there are countries that have taken action saying that any picture of a model that is edited has to come out with the label that it is edited. In this long strive to become standardized we forget to embrace ourselves and love ourselves.

I think that beauty contests are somewhat dangerous to young children who are attracted more. If they are keeping interest upon this programs they spoil their career, and there is no for with stand upon themselves in their future life. So I want to say that these are useless things doing when are leisure. So please eradicate this and young children.

It is an opportunity to the girls or women to show their attitude, appearance, body gesture etc. By organizing a beauty contest it does not mean that it disrespects the other woman. As we all know that different woman has different talent, everyone has the opportunity to show their skills in different fields. By organizing a beauty contest we come to know about the most beautiful woman in the world and in this, there is no any wrong to know. At last, I want to say that everyone is beautiful in their own way and in their own skills.

I would like to say that beauty contests serve as a good platform for those aspiring to make it big in movies or glamour world. But if we are talking about womanhood, nothing in these contests define womanhood. Womanhood doesn't mean looking beautiful or petite, doing a cat walk or talking on terrorism or world peace. These contests are merely a pass to enter the world of fashion and movies. None of the promises made in the contests are addressed after winning the competition let go of completing them. Beauty pageant winners claim to devote themselves in social work but their devotion is time bound only till the winner's tenure. These contests are surely degrading womanhood and hence they should not be supported since their is no value addition done as such.

Firstly, the beauty contests are about the beauty and the talent of the women in front of all her competitor. It is the courage of the women to show her beauty and her talent in front of all the public present over there. It is simply a beauty competition, not a womanhood matter. The womanhood of a woman is judged by her care for others and overall talent to deal with the life. So the beauty contests do not degrade womanhood.

I think the beauty contests are actually no reason behind the degradation of the womanhood. Actually what womanhood means the period of a being and experiencing as a woman and a feminist life with own individual ideas, freedom and all.

The beauty contests which are held actually prove to be fruitful as in they help the contestants to enrich various skills like intellect, social behavior, and many such important aspects of life. The beauty is a God's gift to all of them but the thing which matters in all such contests is the unique character which the only one among them possess it and is known to be the winner.

So I think the degradation of the womanhood is not because of these beauty pageants but rather due to the issues that are going on in our society regarding the safety of our own sister's, mother's daughters.

In my opinion, it is the platform for the women to explore to grab a good quality life by expressing their beauty in various dimensions.

The dimensions women could show in this contest is.

1. Their natural beauty, which may provide them an opportunity to work in modelling, fashion industry. They can take this as their steps to their career in glamor industry.

2. Their spontaneity and knowledge will also be tested so. They can also try their luck in anchoring which adds some value to their name.

3. This also brings the best in the participants to tackle the hardships.

But all this will have a value when women respect and keep in their mind about tradition.

Beauty contest itself a beautiful feeling of women's smartness, gesture and expression. In my opinion, beauty contest give a good platform and immense confidence where they can show their talent all around the world.

In our ancient days, women used to consider just for house hold chores and take care of their families but nowadays, situation are very different. Women have lots of rights, desire and ability to do something in all fields.

Through such contest they would become self dependent and build a huge network in society to get lots of opportunities like jobs, fitness and self respect.

On the other hand, there is also disadvantages. Women who are really interested to take part in such contest have to pass many tests regarding fitness, mental ability and showing their beauty in front of the crowd. On the other hand, it is their compulsion to spend a big amount to look beautiful and get back to their shape like plastic surgery, parsonal yoga trainer ect.

Once who does not win the contest goes to depression and other consequences. Unfortunately many girls who have great desire to remain in fashion shows have to give up their religion, families cultures and education so on.

Moreover, I think instead of helding such shows we should more emphasis over education education and other aspects.

Believe or not, every women should be respected equally and crowned instead of only one.

I appreciate your thoughts. However, I think different for me beauty contest is something which not only degrading womanhood also our culture. Yes there are some parameter on which you judge a woman, but those criteria or parametere only applicable when a woman has outer beauty which she can show off. And Why we are talking about the other thing, we have an example of Yukta mukhi who spoke in Gujraati at the international level. Why she did that when you are saying that in the contest like this only good looking and groomed people participate. Where is she now days and how many of us know her. Beauty should be judge for the good work not for the beautiful thighs and backless blouse.
