Are beauty contests degrading womanhood?

By my point of view, Beauty contest doesn't degrade of womanhood. The famous Beauty contest in the world is miss world and miss universe. I am very glad to say that the miss world of 2017 is Manushi Chhilar from Haryana. And miss universe of 2017 is Nel Pitsberg from South Africa. These contest independent of colour, hight, religion and tradition.

I think the beauty contests are actually no reason behind the degradation of the womanhood. Actually what womanhood means the period of a being and experiencing as a woman and a feminist life with own individual ideas, freedom and all.

The beauty contests which are held actually prove to be fruitful as in they help the contestants to enrich various skills like intellect, social behavior, and many such important aspects of life. The beauty is a God's gift to all of them but the thing which matters in all such contests is the unique character which the only one among them possess it and is known to be the winner.

So I think the degradation of the womanhood is not because of these beauty pageants but rather due to the issues that are going on in our society regarding the safety of our own sister's, mother's daughters.

Beauty contests should be open for every woman living on this planet. The criteria for participation in such contests must include each woman of this earth. There should be no discrimination on the basis of body height, body color, age, ethnicity, region, language, culture, education, economy, etc. Each woman's contributions in any fields must be evaluated and judged. A few numbers of person cannot judge all contributions made by women. Therefore, these must be judged by the majority of concerned people. Till the date, almost all the beauty contests show a discriminatory stereotyped pattern ---- Winner remains Tall, Thin and English speaking. This depicts the dark side of beauty contests.

On this planet, every woman should be respected. Each woman should be crowned instead of only one. Then, such beauty contests can be able to empower women and respect womanhood.

Firstly, beauty contest is just not how beautiful you are. We just know what we see but its more than just beauty they have to work in the social center and even have to pass many other tests.

According to me, it can effect someone self-esteem but doesn't degrade womanhood.

What defines womanhood according to me how you present yourself or how easily you manage things or handle your situations that something that actually degrades or upgrade womanhood.

No. Well, I personally feel beauty contest does not degrade womanhood until it goes beyond the limit that is it goes to the level of exposure in various dresses including sarees.

I personally believe that womanhood is most important for the women growth and beauty contest is medium to stand in front of the people. When a women participate in beauty contest then she learns many thing like how to face crowd how to talk in front of people no matter she will win or loss but she shows confidence to spread herself through beauty contest so overall conclusion that beauty contest is not degrading women hood.

I absolutely want to contend this question, beauty contests never degrade womanhood, in fact, I believe it is one way where womanhood is brought out. It is a platform which enables every girl and a woman to express her views, raise her voice and also to celebrate her womanhood. Beauty contests are not just about how a woman is dressed and about how she looks it's all about what women are and what they are capable of.

Hello, guys this is Manisha Rana and I want to say that Beauty contests are not degrading womanhood as woman should also give the right to do what they want and given a chance to stand up in front of the world and prove that she is not less than anybody.

Beauty contests are for inspiring women's not to degrade womanhood. It is not easy to participate in any beauty contest, it has lots of criteria's, and one who have both beauty and brain only she can win the contest. It is one of the ways to explore yourself in front of the world. So in my opinion, beauty contests do not degrading the womenhood.

Well, it all depends upon choice whether its beauty contest or quiz contest. The place where one can prove its mettle is an appropriate place.
