Speed of sound = 300 m/s
distance travelled in 5 second = 300 * 5 = 1500m.
distance travelled in 6 second = 300 * 6 = 1800m.
If they are on the opposite side of the source, the distance will be maximum
D = 1500+1800 = 3300m.
If they are on the same side of the source, the distance will be minimum
D = 1800-1500 = 300m.
So, the maximum distance is 3300m and the minimum distance is 300m.
distance travelled in 5 second = 300 * 5 = 1500m.
distance travelled in 6 second = 300 * 6 = 1800m.
If they are on the opposite side of the source, the distance will be maximum
D = 1500+1800 = 3300m.
If they are on the same side of the source, the distance will be minimum
D = 1800-1500 = 300m.
So, the maximum distance is 3300m and the minimum distance is 300m.

Maximum Dist=speed*time
=300*(6+5)
=300*11
=3300.
Therefore we will now convert metre to kilometer:
3300/1000=3.3km.
Minimum Dist=speed * time,
=300*(6-5),
=300*1,
=300m.
we will also convert metre to kilometre.
300/1000=0.3km.
=300*(6+5)
=300*11
=3300.
Therefore we will now convert metre to kilometer:
3300/1000=3.3km.
Minimum Dist=speed * time,
=300*(6-5),
=300*1,
=300m.
we will also convert metre to kilometre.
300/1000=0.3km.

Distance=speed *Time
Distance(max)=1.8+0.15=1.95
Distance(min)=1.8-0.15=1.65
=1.95-1.65=0.3km
Distance(max)=1.8+0.15=1.95
Distance(min)=1.8-0.15=1.65
=1.95-1.65=0.3km

Time ratio = 5:6
Speed ratio = 6:5
Given 1 part difference is 300 m/s.
=> 6 parts is 1800 m/s or 1.8km & 5 parts is 1500 m/s or 1.5km.
Max distance is 6 + 5 = 11 parts, => 1800 + 1500 = 3300 m/s or 3.3 km &
Min distance is 6 - 5 =1 part, => 1800 - 1500 = 300m/s or.3km.
Speed ratio = 6:5

Distance = Velocity * Time.
Hence distance to first person = 5 * 300 = 1500 m = 1.5 km.
Distance to second person is = 6 * 300 = 1800 m = 1.8 km.
Then.
The maximum distance is = 1.5 + 1.8 = 3.3 km.
And minimum distance is = 1.8 - 1.5 = .30 km.

@Annu Paraas.
300 m is equal to 0.3 km, not 3.3 km.
300 m is equal to 0.3 km, not 3.3 km.

They might be at the same direction or opposite.
At the same person B hears the sound after 1 second after person B. So there distance is 300m.
SOUND----------A--B.
But at different direction person A takes 5 seconds and person B takes 6 seconds. So there distance is the distance covered by sound at a speed of 300 m/s for (5+6) 11 seconds.
A----------SOUND------------B.

We know that speed = distance/time.
Therefore , distance = speed*time.
D1 = 300*5 = 1500 m/sec.
D2 = 300*6 = 1800 m/sec.
Total distance(max) = D1+D2 = 1500+1800 = 3300 m/sec = 3300/1000 = 3.3 km(as 1 m = 1/1000 km).
Min distance = D2-D1 = 1800-1500 = 300m/sec = 300/1000 = 0.30 km.
So, The max distance taken = 3.3km and the min distance taken = 0.30 km.
Therefore , distance = speed*time.
D1 = 300*5 = 1500 m/sec.
D2 = 300*6 = 1800 m/sec.
Total distance(max) = D1+D2 = 1500+1800 = 3300 m/sec = 3300/1000 = 3.3 km(as 1 m = 1/1000 km).
Min distance = D2-D1 = 1800-1500 = 300m/sec = 300/1000 = 0.30 km.
So, The max distance taken = 3.3km and the min distance taken = 0.30 km.

Given: speed=300 m/s
time 1= 5s
time 2= 6s
Remember that: Speed=distance/time
So,given the speed and the time.
SOLUTION:
Distance=(speed)x(time)
D1=(300 m/s)x(5s)
=1500m note:time unit(second was cancelled)
D2=(300 m/s)x(6s)
=1800m
MAX: D1 + D2
1500m+1800m
=3300m or 3.3km
MIN: D2-D2
=1800m-1500m
=300m or 0.3 km
time 1= 5s
time 2= 6s
Remember that: Speed=distance/time
So,given the speed and the time.
SOLUTION:
Distance=(speed)x(time)
D1=(300 m/s)x(5s)
=1500m note:time unit(second was cancelled)
D2=(300 m/s)x(6s)
=1800m

1500m+1800m
=3300m or 3.3km
MIN: D2-D2
=1800m-1500m
