Peat is found under a huge pressure under earth crust.

So it is the last level of coal formation.

As peat coal has the lowest amount of carbon, therefore it shows the traces of plants from which it has got.

Peat is the first stage of carbonization. It is decomposed plant matter and thus the original plant material may be found.

Anthracite contain 95-96%, bitumen contain 50-60%, lignite contain 25-30% coal but peat contain a very few amount of coal and other volume contain a unwanted part of tree.

Because peat is the uppermost layer of coal layers, the plant matters are mostly found in it!

During carbonization that part of wood which remains in a low pressure because remained at the top most layer remains uncarbonized 1, e not properly undergoes the process of carbonization and hence the traces of wood remain in their original state.
