1 calorie = 4.2 joule is correct.
1-kilo calorie = 4.2 joule is wrong.
That's why 1 gram releases 9.3 kilocalorie of energy.
= 9.3 *kilo* 4.2 joule.
= 39.06 kilo joule.
=39.06 kJ.
