Galileo, was an Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher who played a major role in the Scientific Revolution. His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations, and support for Copernicanism. Galileo has been called the "father of modern observational astronomy",the "father of modern physics",the "father of science" and "the Father of Modern Science". Stephen Hawking says, "Galileo, perhaps more than any other single person, was responsible for the birth of modern science."

The actual inventor is confirmed on the basis of the stories that are really funny and interesting. Hans Lippershey was a spectacle maker and it was in his shop that the first kind of telescopes was discovered.

They were accidently found out by the children who visited his shop for fun. Thus Lippershey can be considered as the inventor of telescopes. There were several people coming up claiming the same invention that they made and wanted the credit of the invention of telescope along with Lippershey.
