@Naveen's method is easy to solve.

x^2-16=0
(x-4)*(x+4)=0
(x-4)=0 or (x+4)=0
x=4 , -4

Lakshmi I like your answer.

(x)2-(4)2=0
(x-4)(x+4)=0
x-4=0,x+4=0
x=4,x=-4

x^2-16=0
x^2=16
x=sq.root 16
i.e.x=+ or - 4
x=4;x=-4
