Geostationary orbits fall in the same category as geosynchronous orbits, but it's parked over the equator. While the geostationary orbit lies on the same plane as the equator, the geosynchronous satellites has a different inclination. This is the key difference between the two types of orbits.

Geo means earth and synchronous means with a same speed. So geosynchronous satillite revoloves same speed around the earth.

There are 3 Geosynchronous Satellite that cover whole earth. Geosynchronous Satellite appears at a fix point due to the same speed as of earth. The term "Synchronous".
