Because,
Number of neutron = Atomic Weight-Atomic Number.
= 28-14=14.
and atomic Number= No.of Electron=No.of Proton.
Because,
Number of neutron = Atomic Weight-Atomic Number.

The amu of Silicon is 28, therefore, protons, electrons and neutrons are 14.
