For FET, we have the equation Av=gm*Zo and Zo=RD//rd.
Combining these two equations, we would get Av=gm*[(RD*rd)/(RD+rd)].
35=5000uS * [(RD * 40kΩ)/(RD+40kΩ)].
RD = 8484.848Ω.
Combining these two equations, we would get Av=gm*[(RD*rd)/(RD+rd)].
35=5000uS * [(RD * 40kΩ)/(RD+40kΩ)].
RD = 8484.848Ω.

As mod of gain, A = gm*Rl.
RL = RD * rd/RD +rd.
So we get the answer.
RL = RD * rd/RD +rd.
So we get the answer.
