Brown 1, Red 2. Yellow 10^4, Gold +-5%.
The maximum value means + 5%.
12*10*10*10 * 10 = 120000,
120000*5/100 = 6000.
120000+6000 = 126000ohm.
The maximum value means + 5%.

Because of 5% tolerance(last colour GOLD), this resistance may vary 5% of 120 000.
Minimum resistance value = 120 k - (120k * 0.05) = 114 k ohms.
Maximum resistance value = 120 k + (120k * 0.05) = 126 k ohms.
Minimum resistance value = 120 k - (120k * 0.05) = 114 k ohms.
Maximum resistance value = 120 k + (120k * 0.05) = 126 k ohms.

Answer is according to resistor color code.

It shows black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey, and white in 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 respectively.
That's why resistance is 120000.
And tolerance of gold is 5%.
So it become 120000+6000 = 126000.
Answer is according to resistor color code.

It shows black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey, and white in 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 respectively.
That's why resistance is 120000.
And tolerance of gold is 5%.

Answer A is right.
Question asking for "The maximum resistance value for a brown, red, yellow, gold".
So,
Brown 1.
Red 2.
Yellow 4.
Gold ±5%.
Hence, 120000 x 5/100,
= 6000.
Now for maximum value,
So, 120000+6000,
= 126000.

So,
