The right answer is 120000 Ohms + 6000 Ohms = 126000.

120000*.05 = 6000 the tolerance of gold.

@Dalmar is Right.

Why we adding 6000?

Because they asking the maximum resistance value. So we should add the tolerance of gold for 120000(120000*.05 = 6000).

If they ask minimum value we need to subtract 6000 from 120000.

Answer is right were we have to add max resistance i.e. 120000+5% = 126000 ohms.
