The Correct option is D, fused.

When the secondary load is overloaded, it draws maximum current in the primary side due to which damaging the primary side as well as appliances. Therefore primary winding of power transformer is fused. Suppose peak voltage of power source is varying then current will also fluctuate so also to limit the current it is fused.

Fuse required in small primary transformer only upto 11 kv, when we say transformer as a general. The answer shall be closed.

The primary winding shall be closed then only it will work as a transformer and produce flux. SHORTED IS THE ANSWER.

FUSE IN SECONDARY MOSTLY AT 415 V side yes.

The power transfoemer rating is very high greater than 1MVA so cost of the equipment is very high. So to protech the transformer from any abnormal currents it should be protected by fuses.

In addition to fuses we use some other protecting equipments like LA (lightning arrester) etc.

Depend upon load conditions, current flows through in primary winding. Normally primary winding voltage will be high but less current flows through primary, up-to rated current fuse will be on, above rated current flows fuse melts and stop conduction and provide equipment safe.

When the secondary load is overloaded, it draws maximum current in the primary side due to which can damage the primary side as well as appliances. Therefore, primary winding of the power transformer is fused.

Whenever the t/f is overloaded the overload current is drawn from the primary side to protect the t/f from this over current fuse is used at the primary side of t/f.

So the given answer is correct.

As primary will be connected to varying supply it must be fused and as the primary winding carries low current fuse is used as a protecting device if fuse is not used then primary coils will burn.

When the secondary loaded is over loaded, it means draws max. Current in the primary side due to which damaged the primary side as wellas appliances. So that power t/f is fused the circuit.

Why because, the incoming supply voltage is varying. It may not be constant, So we need fuse to save the transformer and inorder to limit the initial current, we use fuse.

In power transformer the primary side supply is relatively very high compared to ordinary transformer so obviously FUSE is used in primary.
