The answer is correct because he asked that total no of working persons in the office it means that the new members may be added but some of the old employees may be there. So the answer is correct.

The statement of the question is incorrect. It Should be How many peons are working together in all the year together then after given answer is correct.

The language of the question is incorrect and the solution will.
No of peons working in 1999 = 224 - 120.
= 104.
No of peons working in 1999 = 224 - 120.

Instead of "in the year" it should be "till the year"... I think. Then the question will be accurate.

Why the data of the year 1999 is considered. At the start of 1999, the data upto the year 1998 will come into effect.
