Why the data of the year 1999 is considered. At the start of 1999, the data upto the year 1998 will come into effect.

In that question they are asking about the particular year 1999 then why they have included all above tha rest of year.

No of peons working in 1999 = 224 - 120.
= 104.

The statement of the question is incorrect. It Should be How many peons are working together in all the year together then after given answer is correct.

The answer is correct because he asked that total no of working persons in the office it means that the new members may be added but some of the old employees may be there. So the answer is correct.

All the previous year data must be taken into account for the calculation of the number of the employees present in 1999 because the amount 120 (224 - 120 = 120) is only the effective increase of employees in that year. The question asked for the employees present in 1999, not for an effective increase in employees in 1999.
