We have given marks out of 50 and given at least 60% marks in Physics are required for pursuing higher studies in Physics so 60% of 50 = (60x50/100) = 30.

And No.of students scoring 30 and above marks in Physics are 32 so answer is 32.

Question is asked that at-least 60% is needed for pursuing higher studies. So only least percentage i.e. 30% should be considered.

I think even the person who scored 40 above are to be taken into consideration as the question has not mentioned that even 40+ students are included in 30+ students.

60% ?

We got 30 Answer then see our table we can find 32 come under 30's and above category this is our final answer.

This question has asked that how many students will be able to pursue higher study in physics. Thus, students who are getting 60% and above it are considered for higher study. So, it has to be 41.

30 marks and above include 40 marks and above, and we don't know how many of students who got 30 marks and above, also have 40 and above, so we can only find least number of people eligible so, Answer should be 32.
