2.
How much percent more is spent on Hockey than that on Golf?
27%
35%
37.5%
75%
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the total spendings on sports be Rs. x. Then,

Amount spent on Golf = Rs. ( 36 x x ) = Rs. x .
360 10

Amount spent on Hockey = Rs ( 63 x x ) = Rs. 7x .
360 40

Difference = Rs. ( 7x - x ) = Rs 3x .
40 10 40

Therefore Required percentage = Rs. ( ( 3x/40 ) x 100 ) % = 75%.

SIMPLE SOLUTION
(HOCKEY-GOLF)/HOCKEY x 100= req %
(63-36)/36 x 100=75%

SHRUTI said:   1 decade ago
(HOCKEY - GOLF/ GOLF)*100
(63-36/36)*100 = (27/36)*100 = 75%

Shouldn't this be divided only by x rather than x/10.

1/10 = 100.
1 = 100/1/10.
3x/40 = 100/1/10*3x/40.
= 75.

First hockey - golf.

63 - 36 = 27.
So, then divide it by 27/36 * 100 = 75.
