Kerala became the first state in India to establish a Senior Citizens Commission with the passing of the Kerala State Senior Citizens Commission Bill, 2025. This initiative aims to safeguard the rights, welfare, and protection of senior citizens while ensuring their rehabilitation and empowerment. The commission also serves as an advisory body for policies related to elderly welfare and addresses issues such as neglect, abuse, and exploitation. By creating this statutory body, Kerala has taken a significant step toward ensuring dignity and inclusivity for its elderly population.

Mizoram made history with the first-ever export of Anthurium flowers to Singapore. This export was a significant milestone for India’s floriculture sector, particularly for the North Eastern Region (NER). Facilitated by APEDA in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Government of Mizoram, the consignment of 1,024 cut flowers highlighted the state’s floriculture potential. The export not only boosts India’s agricultural exports but also provides economic benefits to local farmers, especially women. Meghalaya has taken a significant step towards reviving its coal mining industry by inaugurating its first scientific coal mining block, "Saryngkham-A", at Byndihati in East Jaintia Hills.
