Telangana has been chosen as the host for the 72nd Miss World pageant, scheduled from May 10 to 31. The event will bring together contestants from 120 countries in Hyderabad, the state capital. Beyond being a global beauty event, the pageant is an opportunity for the state government to highlight Telangana’s rich cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage. The initiative aims to place Telangana on the international tourism map by positioning it as a “Multidimensional Tourism Hub.” Hosting such a prestigious event underscores the state’s growing global relevance and infrastructural capability.

The Bihar government has launched the Mahila Samvad campaign, a significant initiative aimed at reaching 2 crore women across 70,000 locations in the state. The campaign focuses on promoting women’s empowerment through various schemes such as reservations in Panchayati Raj, government jobs, and self-help groups. The event, titled “Digital Dreams & Cinematic Visions,” featured film industry veteran Ekta Kapoor and highlighted the state’s commitment to nurturing media, entertainment, and digital technologies. Andhra Pradesh is taking a major step in transforming its entertainment landscape by developing India’s first Transmedia Entertainment City, named “Creator Land.” This city will house state-of-the-art facilities focused on various aspects of the entertainment industry, including cinema, gaming, advertising, virtual production, and technology-driven storytelling. The Andhra Pradesh State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Creativeland Asia Private Limited to bring this ambitious project to life. The initiative is expected to establish the region as a key hub for creative industries, driving innovation and economic growth.

Maharashtra has taken a pioneering step by becoming the first state in India to launch a standalone policy focused on shipbuilding, ship repair, and ship recycling. The initiative is designed to attract an investment of Rs 6,600 crore and generate 40,000 jobs by the year 2030. Key features of the policy include capital subsidies, skill development initiatives, and long-term land lease options, all aimed at transforming the state into a major maritime hub. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the state's commitment to strengthening its industrial base and contributing to India’s maritime economy.
