Kerala has launched the ERONET system to simplify the voter verification process for Non-Resident Indians under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Through this digital platform, NRI voters can submit necessary documents online without attending hearings in person, making the process more accessible and efficient. Kerala’s Chief Electoral Officer highlighted that the initiative reduces procedural barriers, speeds up electoral roll corrections, and encourages greater participation of overseas voters. This move reflects Kerala’s continued focus on leveraging technology to strengthen democratic processes and improve the overall efficiency of election administration.

Justice Revati Mohite Dere was sworn in as the first woman Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, marking a historic milestone for the state’s judiciary. India’s largest integrated inland Rainbow Trout farm has been launched in Telangana, specifically in the Ranga Reddy district, by SmartGreen Aquaculture with a ₹50 crore investment. The facility uses advanced technology, including temperature control, water recirculation, and biosecure systems, to rear cold-water trout in the warm climate of the Deccan Plateau. This project represents a significant innovation in Indian aquaculture, overcoming traditional geographical constraints of trout farming confined to Himalayan regions. The ICGS Samudra Pratap, India’s first indigenous Pollution Control Vessel, was commissioned in Goa on January 5, 2026. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited, the vessel is equipped to handle marine pollution, oil spills, firefighting, and maritime emergencies while also supporting coastal patrols and long-duration surveillance. With over 60% indigenous content, it strengthens India’s maritime self-reliance and environmental response capabilities.
