Andhra Pradesh is preparing to launch the ambitious Amaravati Quantum Valley project with the objective of positioning the state as a global centre for quantum research and innovation. The initiative focuses on key areas such as quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum-safe technologies, supported by collaborations with industry leaders like IBM and Tata Consultancy Services and prominent academic institutions. By creating specialised infrastructure, encouraging public–private partnerships, and nurturing skilled talent, the project aligns with India’s broader push toward emerging technologies and aims to strengthen national capabilities in strategic and future-oriented domains.

Rajasthan ranked first among India’s wool-producing states in 2026, producing about 16,013.50 thousand kilograms of wool, which accounts for nearly 47.53 per cent of the nation’s total output. The state’s arid climate and vast grasslands provide ideal conditions for large-scale sheep rearing. Indigenous breeds such as Marwari and Chokla are well suited to these conditions and mainly yield coarse wool used in carpets, rugs, and blankets. Due to its scale of production and regional specialization, Rajasthan forms the backbone of India’s wool industry and supports rural livelihoods across the state.

Gujarat introduced 14 advanced 1.5 Tesla MRI machines to strengthen diagnostic facilities in GMERS and Civil Hospitals across the state. The investment of ₹178.54 crore aims to improve access to high-quality healthcare services. Alongside this, the state inaugurated 31 development projects collectively valued at more than ₹348 crore in Kheda district. These projects cover key sectors such as irrigation, water supply, roads, and healthcare. The initiatives, including the launch of Fagvel taluka, reflect Gujarat’s focused approach toward integrated regional development and improved public service delivery.

The 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Project was commissioned in Assam by SJVN through its subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited. Developed at a cost of ₹367.44 crore over 330 acres, the project marks a significant step in expanding the state’s renewable energy capacity. It is expected to generate 141.13 million units of electricity in its first year and about 3,230 million units over a 25-year period. The project will supply affordable solar power at ₹3.92 per unit to the Assam Power Distribution Company, supporting clean and sustainable energy goals.

Karnataka decided to reintroduce paper ballots for both rural and urban local body elections, including Zilla and Taluk Panchayats as well as Greater Bengaluru civic polls. The decision, taken by the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, aims to enhance transparency and rebuild public confidence in the electoral system. This change will apply to all forthcoming local body elections in the state and will replace the use of electronic voting machines. To facilitate the shift, amendments to the Karnataka Conduct of Election Rules are to be introduced within a short timeframe.
