V.O. Chidambaranar Port became the first major port in India to implement a Digital Twin platform, a cutting-edge digital system that creates a real-time virtual replica of the port’s infrastructure and operations. The platform integrates technologies such as IoT sensors, GPS tracking, LiDAR mapping, drone imaging, and CCTV networks to monitor activities like vessel movement, berth occupancy, and crane utilisation. The system also supports predictive maintenance of cargo-handling equipment and intelligent scheduling to reduce congestion. This initiative at V.O. Chidambaranar Port aims to reduce vessel turnaround time by up to 25% and improve energy efficiency while supporting sustainability goals.

Nashik Municipal Corporation became the first Urban Local Body in Maharashtra to issue public Green Municipal Bonds and list them on the National Stock Exchange of India. These bonds are fixed-income debt instruments used by local governments to raise funds specifically for environmentally sustainable projects and climate-friendly initiatives. The listing ceremony was marked by Ashish Chauhan, Managing Director of NSE, who presented a replica of the NSE bell to Devendra Fadnavis. The funds generated from these bonds will support green infrastructure, sustainable urban development, and environmentally beneficial public projects in the city.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched its first structured Bug Bounty Program to enhance the security of the Aadhaar digital ecosystem. The initiative invites ethical hackers and cybersecurity researchers to identify vulnerabilities in important digital platforms such as the UIDAI official website, the myAadhaar portal, and the Secure QR Code system. A panel of 20 cybersecurity experts has been selected to conduct systematic testing of these platforms and report any weaknesses. Rewards will be provided depending on the severity of the vulnerabilities discovered. The program aims to strengthen digital identity protection and ensure that sensitive personal data linked to Aadhaar remains secure from emerging cyber threats.

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), in collaboration with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), launched the fourth batch of the Directors' Certification in Corporate Governance for Defence Officers. The program began on 9th March 2026 at the IICA campus in Manesar, Gurugram. It is a two-week certification course designed for senior serving and recently retired officers from the Indian Armed Forces. The initiative aims to prepare them for effective roles as board members in public and private sector companies. The curriculum focuses on corporate governance principles, regulatory frameworks, and the responsibilities of independent directors while utilising the officers’ expertise in leadership, strategy, cybersecurity, and project management.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the declaration of Madurai Airport in Tamil Nadu as an International Airport. Madurai Airport is among the oldest airports in the state and serves as an important gateway to Southern Tamil Nadu. Granting international status is expected to improve regional and global connectivity, facilitating greater trade and economic activity. The decision will also boost tourism and pilgrimage since Madurai is widely known as the “Temple City” and is home to several historically and culturally significant sites. Increased international flights are likely to attract more visitors, businesses, and investors, contributing to the overall economic and infrastructure development of the region.
