FLY91 is the Goa-based regional airline that former Indian Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman joined as a commercial pilot in August 2026. After nearly 22 years of service in the IAF, Varthaman resigned from military service on March 31, 2026, and transitioned to civilian aviation. He subsequently began type rating and other mandatory procedures required for regional commercial flying. FLY91 commenced commercial operations in March 2024 and operates ATR 72-600 aircraft, focusing on regional connectivity between smaller cities and markets. As of September 3, 2026, the airline had six ATR 72-600 aircraft in its fleet.
