Saudi Arabia imposed a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat and table eggs from 40 countries, including India, as a preventive measure to safeguard public health. The decision was announced by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) following global risk assessments and reported outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and Newcastle disease.
