National Safety Day is observed every year in India on March 4 to promote awareness about workplace safety, occupational health, and accident prevention. The day is organised by the National Safety Council (NSC), which was established on March 4, 1966. National Safety Day was first celebrated in 1972 and has since grown into a nationwide campaign encouraging industries and organizations to adopt better safety practices. The observance now extends into National Safety Week and even National Safety Month, during which seminars, safety drills, training programs, and awareness campaigns are conducted to strengthen safety culture across workplaces and protect employees from occupational hazards.
