World Cancer Day is observed every year on February 4 with the objective of increasing global awareness about cancer and encouraging its prevention, detection, and treatment. The day brings together individuals, organisations, and governments to address the growing burden of cancer and work toward equitable access to care for all. The theme “United by Unique” emphasizes people-centered cancer care and recognises that every individual’s experience with cancer is different. Established in 2000 by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the observance plays a key role in mobilising global action to reduce cancer-related deaths worldwide.
