The Indian Orchid Festival 2026 concluded in the Pakyong district of Sikkim after four days of activities that included exhibitions, expert discussions, and participation from farmers and entrepreneurs. The event was organised by the ICAR-National Research Centre for Orchids with the theme “Orchids for Beauty & Prosperity.” It brought together orchid growers, nursery owners, researchers, and floriculture experts from across the country. The festival promoted orchid cultivation, sustainable horticulture practices, and floriculture entrepreneurship. Participants exchanged knowledge on modern orchid farming techniques, breeding innovations, and commercial opportunities. Such initiatives support the growth of India’s floriculture industry and highlight the rich orchid diversity found particularly in the northeastern and Himalayan regions.
