UltraTech Cement became the first Indian company to surpass 2 GW of captive green energy capacity on October 6, 2026, reaching a cumulative installed capacity of 2,024 MW. This milestone followed the commissioning of a 116.55-MW wind power project in Barmer, Rajasthan, and a 10-MW Waste Heat Recovery System at Sarlanagar Cement Works in Karnataka. Its total green energy capacity comprises 1,580 MW of renewable energy and 444 MW of waste heat recovery capacity. These sources meet approximately 48% of the company's current power requirements. UltraTech Cement is the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and a major global cement manufacturer. The achievement supports its long-term decarbonisation strategy.
